So I made a screen in the editor that looks like this. It uses almost all layers, and each tile has at most 16 frames of animation. Looks fine in the editor:

But then, when I go to play it, it turns into this shit show:

I'm a little miffed about this, since if this is a non-fixable issue, I guess I have to redraw this, and change what I thought was, a minimalist approach. :/

Maybe ZC can't handle that many layers, frames, and transparencies on one tile's space?

I guess if I have to, I can choose between the scrolling background, and transparent clouds. But still, why?

Edit: Oh, "why?", Anthus? Could your NES do it? I didn't think so either.

Example Quest.

Looks fine to me. Maybe you accidentally disabled layer 1?

Yeah, honestly I don't know. The layers were all on when I exited the editor to test, and reopening it confirms since they are still set to on.

I feel like this might be a very unique fluke and might not be replicable on other machines for whatever reason. Either way though, I actually decided against using the white clouds anyway cause it looks a lot better without. I was just messing around with tiles.

In ZC, I mean. With level 4 cheats enabled, pressing 0-6 will disable the corresponding layer. It's easy to do accidentally.

That.... could... totally be something I may have done. I didn't know that.

Yeah I was going to say, give that a try and see what happens. The 0-6 buttons flip them on and off, although, I thought those settings reset once you exit the program. Maybe they don't.

Are you perhaps using overhead tiles? Those tend to bug out in the editor, making it appear as if they are on layer 0, meaning you could have accidentally put some overhead combos.
