Bagel- I am a very well-seasoned zelda player, especially on ZC, I am very familiar with where to bomb for secrets and how some areas are locked out of reach for a time until you have the item to get it. I know where to look. I have looked high and low in both worlds and know for a fact that I have gotten every one near/in a dungeon. Yes I got the pyramid one, that was easy. I guess I'm asking, is there a final Piece of Heart that you can only get like after you have all the items, or maybe can only be gotten with one of the last items? Or maybe a hint to one very commonly overlooked that isn't a dungeon Heart Piece?

 

Also, the 3rd Medallion? Any clues there?

 

Oh, and btw, this isn't really related to the quest, but your avatar pic is awesome. Which game is that from?

 

This is a big spoiler, kinda. It reveals the areas and map/screen numbers of all 24 pieces in the quest. Some of this isn't super helpful but maybe it will point you in the right direction? This is a report pretty much straight out of ZQuest and it is in no particular order at all.

Keep fighting that Tektite. Bring a lot of (read: 40-50) bombs! Maybe you'll find out where that third Medallion is! ;)

 

As far as my avatar, I pretty much just found it on imgur. I think it's just a really nice piece of fan art; I don't know who to attribute it to but if I did I would do so.

well ... this quest has been designed to be played repeatedly..!... never get tired of this :confused: ..??? ... so I'm starting again.. there we go... I means... there I go , one more time!

Beat it! And got everything! Found that last PoH (the Ice Cavern, forgot to return there after getting the glove), and the 3rd medallion too (that is a HUGE leg up with the White Tunic). Made Ganon a little easier, but that was THE toughest Ganon I've fought in the 2D Zeldas. We're I a lesser gamer, not sure if I could've taken him out first try.

 

All in all, Bagel, this quest had everything I wanted/expected and thensome. I understand not everyone is a quest factory here, so you may not make another, but if you do, I am certain I would enjoy it. This was a perfect combination of ALTTP and Zelda Classic and filled my nostalgia tank with every level. Thank you.

I have submitted one final update.

  • The areas where you could potentially get stuck and have to F6 are fixed.
  • The Cane of Byrna does more damage and has two orbiters. It still drains magic just as rapidly.
  • Fixed a couple incorrect strings.
  • Fixed some enemy bombs appearing as ocarinas for some reason.
  • Added a couple overworld secrets.
  • Added a shortcut to level 5 to skip floor B1 once you've obtained the dungeon item.
  • Chests containing potions are now color-coded as to the type of potion they contain.
  • Added item drop sets to some enemies that were missing them.
  • Removed Herobrine

Hopefully this will be the absolute last update to Quest 744, ever. I mean it's been out for almost a year and this is the 24th update to it. Holy crap.

I'm enjoying this quest. It has a slow start and there are many things I don't agree with, but it still is not bad. So where do you go after getting the mirror?

Check to see if there is a part of the world you haven't been to yet. See if you can find a way there.

Ok, just finished a 2nd pass through this quest.  Still learning some enemy weaknesses, and later bosses seem to be more tanking than anything, especially with Ganon

 

Some small things noted

 

1. In these 3 examples, the chest is colored blue, but contain red potions, which I believe were the default potion

3. Maybe use a one-way shutter on the left door here given the ice block doesn't really have much purpose as a shortcut.  The shutter option allows for quicker backtracking, mainly to get to fire rod after getting boss key, but also would prevent shortcuts to the left

4. Another very minor thing here.  Not sure if the thick block in the lower right corner is supposed to be hookshot-able

Again, pretty minor issues here at least, but may as well bring them up.

 

Hopefully I can get around to LP'ing this down the line.

you won't believe, just started a new play tonight at second pendant dungeon, the boss is a robot formation real tough i blew them all with one single regular bomb -- try ur  luck, this never happen and won't happen again....maybe :bounce:

vravelo: I edited your post, since you accidentally quoted pixcalibur twice. It looked pretty huge on the page, and didn't really seem relevant to what you said. ;) That's pretty incredible that you took them all out with one bomb, though!

 

bagel: I haven't really been able to get back to this. Motivation's a little low, considering I've seen Eppy play from where I am now and have been a little busy. I know how frustrating it can be to have people assault you with bugs when you consider your quest finished, but maybe this will be helpful for your remake, too. I'm pretty sure other players would agree that there's something weird about the collision detection for pits from the top. Link seems to snap in if even a single pixel brushes the pit sometimes. Most likely it could be fixed by adding a +4 or +8 to one of the y coordinate checks. I've noticed a few other minor things, but this is the one that consistently bothers me the most.

I don't mean to be nit picky in my posts. Just little things I note when I play through a quest. If it was something major, likely other people would have caught on already.

Again, all that stuff in the above post is just very minor stuff FYI to take a peek at if you want to. Doesn't matter too much for me given I make my own little maps so that I know what's in each room and how to get around the different places.
