I finally finished EVERYTHING on a Pure Good Karma run.  As was said, the Soul Game Box puzzle was weird and the logic not known at all, but surprisingly enough, kinda fit extremely well into this quest.

Spoiler

Now to wait 5 years patiently for Lost Lineage... Can't wait to see what it changes, keeps the same, and eventually see what happens to Zelos (most likely tons of deaths, but what do you expect; it's a ZC game!)

Also kinda curious as to what Zelos' and Karnelia's relationship will be; fellow adventurers, close friends, or future lovers (yes, I occasionally like the mushy stuff... Or should I call it the Mooshy stuff?)

Gonna go review now before I get slaughtered for my bad puns (at least I can continue, save or reset)

Congrats! I certainly don't expect 100% of all players to find that 5th mega tier secret, admittedly. (I was actually discussing this just last night, but finding that mega tier secret will also turn out to be non-canon. Zelos doesn't actually complete the challenge in the intended series of events.) So I purposely went a little overboard in hiding it, despite that you can definitely find it by pure mistake. I set it up with specific logic in mind, but it's nothing I would ever expect someone to 100% follow from start to finish. This is basically my version of Exate's weird secret from Pessimistic Pizza or Rambly's from Depressive Donuts; I just didn't want you randomly hitting things with items to find it.

If I absolutely run out of time or don't think I can finish the quest with my goals in mind, Lost Lineage will become a collab project in a worst case scenario. For now though, I'm pleased with the progress I was able to make this summer (four dungeons in roughly five weeks made for an insanely fun time). So hopefully you'll only be waiting 4 years the rehaul won't take any longer than a year. I'll never make this a guaranteed promise but that's the scope I have in mind so far. Some of it depends on scripts and stuff (I'm not a good scripter by any means, so I have to rely on a few people), and of course how busy my Master's studies and teaching keep me. I also write and have my Youtube stuff. I'm notorious for doing...too many things at once, putting it lightly, but I've always kept going knowing that they can all be finished eventually.

4 years... damn, I'll have to find something to do while I wait, then D:

Hopefully more 2.5 quests w/o NES graphics comes out (although I do tend to like some ways the BS ones are used); I like story and all, but the old graphics just tend to hurt my eyes after a while; they can seem too glaring.

Anyway, hope you liked my review, and I personally recommend anyone looking through this, thinking of trying the game, to just do so; I can say from personal experience that it's worth the time.

How do you beat Duke in the sanskrit basement? I just need some tips. The fight seems pretty unfair to me, even though I have 5 heart containers :0

I really love this quest, but it's difficult.

It might pay off to get a few more heart containers first. Either way, the strategy is pretty simple. First phase is just fighting a darknut, easy peasy. Second phase, you want to walk in circles around him. His pattern is throw a bomb, charge at you with sword, retreat. So you move in a circle, dodging the bomb, dodging the sword, and then hitting him while he retreats. Don't get in close after he retreats, or the bomb will hit you.

The one slight correction I'll make for Russ is that he charges you with the sword first, and then throws a bomb. But yeah, it's the same thing every time; the only thing unpredictable is when he'll actually attack. He loses his Darknut shielding in the second phase so as long as you don't try rushing him (this is a general pattern with bosses in this quest; they tend to cause stalemates or large dodging fests) you should be fine. His health is actually quite low in the second phase, but getting used to his pattern can overshadow this. (He also takes more damage from certain weapons you can already access.)

Five Heart Containers is about the average for this point in the game and about what I recommend to be fine. TS did it with four in his LP.

I notice the quest definitely has a "not first quest" feel, so I'm thinking of a couple things that will probably be more difficult for you later down the road. At some point, you can break the money system and afford more potions if needed. Also be sure to find those secrets! :D A whole bunch of them will help in the long run.

EDIT: Eh, you know what, let's have another major update at some point. I was looking through my inventory of feedback and LPs I've seen of this. It's time for a small enemy rehaul. Mostly stat changes, but maybe some newer or different foes here and there. My heart drop rates also apparently aren't as high as I thought they were, so that will be changing too.

Could you give a list of all 5 mega tier secrets, and what they are? I don't know what counts as a mega tier secret. Also, how do you get the mirror tunic, and how do you access sotaris? And how do you get to the Zora Grandmaster in the soul game? Here are the major secrets I have found (sorry, I don't know how to add spoilers):

1: The heart of everlasting life, in the minidungeon where you fight rafell. I can't obtain it, all I got was a heart container.

2. Both sacrifice trials.

3. The entrance to sotaris. I can't enter it, though.

4. Ixan's wallet.

5. The Eppy Feather monument, But I can't get it.

6. The Real mask of truth in the museum.

7. All of the good karma items in the sanskrit temple except for the heart container, because I took the emporer's flame (Willingly, I just hated that rope game so much).

8. I have played the soul game, And there are a few secrets that I heard. How do I get to the Big key on the beach? What does it do? What is that really powerful item in Sanskrit temple? and How do I get to it?

Please help?

Okay, thanks! Where might I find this secret shop? And what is this soul game puzzle I keep hearing about? And by grand library, do you mean the library in the dojo?

I have looked everywhere in th Myso Mt's area. I cannot find this stardust trigger. I have found a secret shop by using the blood note on the screen west of plergoth. Is that it?

Same. I see a box in the screen with the soul game house. There is also a box in the secret shop. How do I get this secret? Is this the soul box puzzle? Does this lead to the big key on the beach?

Edit: One more post for 300th post in this thread XD
