Demonlink: I haven't finished this but I want to just point out how unfair level 2 Stalfos are on sideview screens and no shield. Otherwise solid dungeon so far, I beat the mini-boss(?). An actual review will be here once I finish the entire thing.

Hmmm, I actually intended for Lvl. 2 Stalfos to be on the first dungeon. Given I thought most people were bored of the standard ones, well, I added them to increase difficulty, but I guess that's one more on my "to do" list. As for the "mini boss", yes, that was it, given I knows no ghosting. :/ Thanks for your review!

Demonlink: I personally would do something to simplify the difficulty from an enemy perspective. Either by giving more health regen abilitiy or just making the rooms simpler in enemy choice. And that miniboss is pretty brutal. I wanted to enjoy it more but at least for me I'm not a fan of high difficulty unless it has to do with puzzles. The design is solid however and I love having sideview implemented.

I might decide to change the mini boss later on, given I intended for it to be a placeholder rather than an actual foe. And, I guess my enemy choices are poor as well, but hence, I'll beware of these changes. Thanks! :)

Demonlink: I felt like your vertical detection for falling off ledges was wrong. You might want to consider making that more forgiving.

Did you mean the falling pits? If that's the case, I'm using a very, very old version of the HoleLava script from Mero, given it's the only one compatible with combining moving platforms. I'll be sure to check that out as well.

Demonlink - can I open .bin without downloading a program for it?

I read your posts above, so solving your internet issue will allow you to play the dungeon. :)

I'm fine with Level 2 Stalfos in a Level 1 dungeon, but the problem is that in sideview, without the feather or an upgraded shield, you have to take damage which sucks. :( In any case, I finished your dungeon and will re-write my review soon (getting Twilight Princess HD in a few hours so I'll be heavily distracted). I liked it and I hope Hylian Legacy remains in progress because it has some serious potential.

Finally got to play these entries. Reviews below: (will get through grayswandir's entry a bit later)

Demonlink - This was a fantastic dungeon. I loved the progression and the puzzles involved. Everything flowed really nicely and nothing I've came across was unfair at all (except for a couple odd jumping moments). My only criticism is to do with this room. You have to wait for the platform to make a full circle while avoiding fireballs. Personally I would suggest to move the platform so that you can get to it straight away without having to wait. Other than that, this was really great. Awesome job man!

BigJoe - This was a neat dungeon. The ideas behind it are very cool, and I always like the whole Red/Blue block gimmick people use. This dungeon used it pretty well and I also like the Z1-inspired screen design. My only complaints is that this dungeon felt too big for a Level 1, maybe this would've suited a later dungeon (like 5 or 6). Also, if you happen to die deep in the dungeon, you have to repeat everything again which can get pretty tedious. Some shortcuts would've helped honestly. Other than that, this was fun for the most part.

Joelmacool - I remember playing this dungeon in your expo and I know it's almost the same with a few changes, so I'm not going to play it again. But from what I remember, this was a very solid dungeon and the idea of having Stray Fairies is very unique, something I haven't seen anyone else do. Got no criticisms for this. Good job with this dungeon.

RedTribeLink - This was a very awesome dungeon. Really awesome gimmicks and I love the Golden Skulltula sidequest throughout the dungeon. I have no criticisms with this dungeon, though it did get a little confusing at times (but it's not that big of a deal). Great job with this, looking forward to seeing what else you got.

grayswandir - Very interesting dungeon. I like the idea of having to choose between 3 items, and all the items were pretty unique. I went with the Ball and Chain and honestly I kinda regret it. That item seemed really irritating to use and sometimes it hits enemies when other times it doesn't. That got frustrating fast. Other than that though, it was just your typical dungeon. I do like the shift from a cave setting to a dungeon setting. That was a neat shift. Nice dungeon nonetheless.

I voted for Demonlink this month, I really enjoyed that dungeon. 2nd place is RedTribeLink.

If I need to I can try reuploading demonlink' entry and give you a new link. As for your vote, just vote for whichever you liked the most, but being unable to play an entry kind of sucks cause it's not exactly fair. It's up to you if want to vote or wait, but there's still plenty of time so don't feel pressured or like you have to rush to vote :)

Would be great if Demonlinks submission could be reuploaded again, maybe as .zip, still get only .bin ... even with laptop.

A further problem to decide between Joelmacool and BigJoe is that this is dungeon of the month and not something like "would you like this dungeon in a quest". Like Eddy said BigJoes is a bit too big, especially for a first level, but as a stand alone dungeon it is just perfect. Joelmacools in contrary is a lot of fun and lets you lust for more, but as stand alone it is too short and not satisfying.

Back at home, no Internet with my laptop again, with handy mediafire also results in .bin again.

It's just you, Naru. I downloaded both of Demonlink's files and they work just fine.

I am aware of that. I think it could help if the file is .zip , downloaded the music for the banana kingdom quest today which is .zip and it worked fine even though the file is far bigger than demonlinks dungeon.

[Edit] thank you, the zipped file worked without problems. Also decided just to go with the quest I enjoyed the most, my bad habit of taking anything too sirious popped up again :)

I will zip it and reupload it for you after work, so probably around nine tonight.

I didn't have a chance to upload this last night, I went to a birthday party I forgot about. Should have it up tonight though.

Here is Demonlink's entry, zipped, and reuploaded.

Glad it worked, Naru. :)

I've actually been really busy this last week too, and need to play all of these from the start again before voting.

Thankfully I'll have my usual schedule back this week. We had a huge sale at work, and we're understaffed as it is and people called off on top of that. Overtime is nice though.

Will this contest be continuing? I am trying to prepare a dungeon for  DotM2 or maybe DotM3 depending on when I get it finished.

It will continue as long as we get entries :P. Currently there are no entries for dotm 2, but I have a feeling they'll trickle in in the last week or so, since that happened the first time lol. Needless to say, any and all entries are welcome.
