well, go figure: I've made even more changes since you started. I didn't change the header details, though, so if you redownload, you won't have to start over again. holler.

Hi trudatman, playing your game and looking for level 2 any Help? ...looks great so far. I am using version 1266 which works for 190 games for those of us whose computers won't let them play in 190. What is the blue tie looking thing I picked up? It is in the fins position but does not let me go into the water.

this thread's first post has a chapter summary. it'll clue you in to some things. the titles of the chapters are relevant. the custyblue glass bowl is essentially the cross. post again if you need more help. thanks for playing.

oh: which version are you using? from this thread or my site or the database? the database one is very much outdated.

good luck, buddy. I should be around most of tonight, if you need help or have comments. I am working on an updated walkthrough, but I am only about 1/4 through it. I hope you enjoy the game.

well, here's the thing: many builds make him MUCH harder than he should be. he should take eight hits to each head, but many builds have it set at like sixteen each. if it is taking more than eight each, you can edit the game to take him out (and replace him with four blue darknuts or something). PM me for the edit code, if that's the case. if he is a regular eight each, you can do it.

I may have missed it, but can we play this quest with Vista? And if so, which build? It might just be my computer, but I can't run 2.10. I use to be able to and recently it just closes as soon as it opens.

2.5 works well, but does this quest work with 2.5? I started playing a little on build 1296, but can't get very far.

I don't know a specific answer to that question, but I always fall back on: "use Zelda Classic 1.90." ALL other versions change things that make the game either harder (Gleeoks take at least twice as many hits to die, which makes early levels nearly impossible) or unbeatable. if you cannot use 1.90, you will not enjoy this quest. good luck and thanks for checking in.

edit: pretty sure 2.1 and 2.5 will let you play as far as the start of the second dungeon, at which point the Gleeok will require some twenty hits because of the 1.90 -> 1.92+ coding error that reassigned that enemy slot to a much harder version of the Gleeok. he should only require eight hits, which is borderline infuriatingly hard as it is. use 1.90 if you plan to get beyond level two.

I used 1.92b184 and I seem to recall the Gleeok was fine. I use this version for 1.90 and 1.92 quests and haven't had any problems.

it is very possible. think about what happens when you step out and then try to control what happens. it's going to hurt, but you can get those boots!

Tried more and more times, but I'm always pushed back.
I'm using beta version, I completed the old quest some time ago.

well, I didn't change that part. by beta, do you mean my newest update of the quest or the newer builds of the engine? when you did it before, you turned quickly before being bounced back. step out at an angle. if you step on a hurt block and turn before it moves you, it'll move you in the opposite direction from that which you face toward. make sense? step out, quickly turn right and then work your way left. good luck. please report back if you cannot make this work. pretty sure you must have done this last time.

I mean the beta quest, i.e. the quest I found in the first post of this topic.
Tried almost 100 times, used 2 Pc, but I'm stuck.
Perhaps my fingers are not as fast as one year ago!
