This is my first ZC mod that I've played and it has definitely got me inspired to finish my own. I'm having a little trouble with swimming and not sure what i'm doing wrong. I'm using ZC 2.5 beta build 20.

I do not seem to be able to climb up the vines after getting in the water (in the OW) and I am unable to get off some platforms in the windmill. This means that I am unable to deliver the suits or complete the windmill. If this is a bug with my current version is there a way ic an take my save and move it to another ZC version?

Is this something anyone else has encountered?

Cheers,

Andrew

It's a bug with 2.5, which will be fixed as soon as RC3 is released (which should be any day now). However, there's a different bug with 2.5 that prevents you from beating the final boss, so don't get your hopes up.

If you read back through this thread there's all sorts of warnings not to play it in any of the 2.5 betas, due to various game-stopping bugs. It's 2.10 only; there's a 2.10.2 version that fixes a bug with the music in 2.10, which you can download here:

Ya know Shoelace, if you wanted, I could create a 2.5 compatible version that fixes the one or two game-breaking bugs in 2.5. I know you always say "It's 2.10 play it in 2.10", but you have to remember, 2.10 doesn't run on most Vista and 7 machines (it won't work on mine, for example). It would be no trouble; I could probably have it fixed in 5-10 minutes. But please, don't keep such a large group of people from enjoying (what I believe to be) the greatest ZC quest ever made.

I am about near the end of this positively amazing game, but I've come across one major problem...

I cannot hit the energy ball back at the last boss. I've seen videos of it and the person playing had no problems in hitting it back to the final boss, but here I can tap Up + A until the cows come home and I'm taking that four damage no matter what.

Is it a problem with 2.5? Do you Need a controller? I've looked through the last 20 or so pages in the Help Thread and no one else seems to be having this problem at all.

As Russ points out, I've tried my hardest to get 2.10 to run on this computer, expressly to play this game, but no avail. At least you left it password unlocked in your newest version so people can fix those game breakers.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll probably just leave it then or start it again. That's a shame. You have to take the rough with the smooth; this is the rough part.

Is it a problem with 2.5?

Nailed it. From what I understand, it's a bug caused by the way 2.5 handles a secret combo turning into a warp combo underneath Link. Creating a 2.5 fix would be as simple as changing it to an autowarp combo and setting the side warp instead of the tile warp, really.

With RC3 being released, I believe the two bugs that were causing this is fixed. But I haven't tested it myself. This is what I will do. Let me do the fix with the autowarps... but the water bug... for sure should be fixed in RC3.

So I will maybe make a RC2 fix quest, but those are only for the people that started it with RC2. I still would rather you play on 2.10, but if you can't please play on RC3. And let me see if I can get that done by this weekend. But first I will test it with RC3.

RC3 fixed the bugs, but general engine changes between 2.10 and 2.5 have made the final battle almost impossible.

Edit: OK, I just beat the secret dungeon and WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!? I hate cliffhangers...icon_frown.gif especially when they're for a game that will probably never be completed what with 2.5 still taking eons to be finished...

lol, thank you. Again, I am going to try really hard to work on this for Sunday. So you beat the secret Dungeon. Awesome! icon_biggrin.gif I have that cliffhanger because it is my main part of the storyline for the game after that.

On a side note, you are still going to help with my Chapters of Enova right? Sorry it took a while to get it going, but since RC3 is from what I here pretty good, I will have jump into it. icon_biggrin.gif

I watched a few videos of your quest online, buddy who was making the video singing "dream on" was kind of unbearable! Another guy who made a video of your quest talking like sir Lancelot of the east was also mind wrecking. Despite how difficult these people were to listen to, their taste is good, your quest is quite an impressive piece of work. I really believe you are a skilled quest designer.

But also in my humblest opinion, we don't share the same sense of humor! Lol

My search did not come up with a "The Hero of Dreams" topic (thread). I am playing this game again (played it once a long time ago) and just wanted to say this game is worth replaying. Very well done by Shoelace.

STAFF EDIT: Merged with the help thread.

Thanks!

Argh... I've played through this whole quest, and It's absolutely AMAZING, though i can't say I've beaten it since the Ganon battle is impossible to win... and looking around this thread, i can safely blame that on ZC 2.50 RC3 >_>

Heck, I'm guessing on RC3, the battle against the commander didn't reset whenever i used a recovery potion or Nayru's Love, since it seems like he regenerated to 100% health the second i used it at the wrong point.

In any case, the quest is GODLY. I absolutely LOVE IT.

The dungeons are awesome, the music choice for each dungeon is well-thought, and the custom bosses are all very fun to fight, which is made even MORE fun by the use of Aerosmith's music for bosses. Just thought I'd say how much i loved the quest, Shoelace!
