To play the quest on 2.10 you HAVE to launch Zelda Classic like this: Right click on the program, click on Run as admin. If not you will have that problem. It is a vista thing. If you do it that way, it plays correctly.

Okay, I've done that, and thanks for the fast help. However, the music is not rendering properly. After entering and leaving a few houses, the sustain on some voices becomes infinite so the music turns into a cacophany of discordancy. Saving/Exiting/Restarting fixes it until it starts doing it again after a few more entries/exits, so I'm stuck repeatedly loading the menu and continuing to restart the audio and kill the noise. I'd hate to play through this with the music turned off since it's pretty damned good music, so I hope someone has a suggestion how to fix it? Thanks!

No way to fix that one, unfortunately. Not even the update that's in the works for HoD can solve that bug. It's so annoying, in fact, you will find in-game references to it.

Sorry. :x

Huh. The music plays just fine in the 2.5 alphas. Oh well. Thanks for the response.

Yeah, it is a known 2.10 problem. I think they fixed it in 2.10.2, I am not sure, but I think they did. Since it is on the player itself, I can't fix it. But a quick way to fix it, is to alt-tab and then go back to ZC. It is annoying that you have to do that, but if you want the music you may have to do that. :/

The music bug is indeed fixed in 2.10.2.

That is too long to explain especially because I don't know where you are at. Which one specifically?

I'm at a stump with the blue fire-shooting Stalfos and the hopping evil bunny things.

You are going to hate me, but I don't know where you are. It has been since 2006 since I played through the level, and I am at my hometown visiting so I don't have ZC with me to check where you are at. I just don't remember what screen blue stalfos and... I can't remember evil bunnies... I don't know.

I really hope you found the keys... Maybe, if you tell my a more detailed placement in the level you are at. For example, what keys you got, what items you got in the level. Better yet, where the key hole is. If you tell me that, I would probably be able to pinpoint where you are.

Ummm, It's behind a fence on the island of green Octoroks shooting fireballs with the statue with one eye.

EDIT: NVM. I found the last key.

Okay, I'm in Hyrule Castle, I got the first two keys, one of which I stuck in the left keyhole near the entrance, the other of which I stuck in the left keyhole in the rear (past the seven-headed dragon.) Now I can get to the right keyhole near the entrance, but I see no way to get to the remaining treasure chests marked on the map and I'm guessing I was supposed to save that second key for this keyhole... It took me a while to figure out how to open the staircase on the right side because I'm smaert, so I thought I was supposed to beat the dragon next. Please tell me I am not starting the entire quest over...

No, I plotted it out so you can't get stuck so don't worry about that. From the start of the Hyrule Castle go one screen to the right and you have to swim under the water. You will see a opening to swim under the floor do that, and you will go to the other keys. Hope that helped.

Kenster: The tongue statue, you can hammer it. And the door will open. The other side to the right, you can swim under it. Let me know if you need more help.

Moblin: Which part are you stuck on?
