There is a guy in this quest that states that the red ring is not in Level 9. Is he telling the truth, or lying?

Oh yeah, since you're almost done. This quest now has a sequel. So be sure to give that a try. [/shamelessplug]

Found the 200 rupees, but not the red ring. Does the lie also refer to boss enemies or just normal ones? There is one enemy in Level 9 that could be a candidate, but there is already a staircase in its room (and there are no secret triggers in there.) Should MeleeWizard play this quest, he will probably be wondering where the red ring is at as well.

One screenshot I saw of this quest indicates that the red ring can be found before getting the L2 bracelet and the silver arrow, so that rules out a sizable chunk of Level 9.

I am still missing a key in Level 9. What are the hardest to find, most easily missed keys in that dungeon?

How do you beat level 5?  I cannot figure out how to reach a few spots in this level to get the boss key and other items

You best just wait until somebody does a Let's Play of this quest, which might not happen for a long time.

One thing you will want to understand about level 5 is that there are floor triggers that can be hard to notice (look for minor misalignments in the floor tiles.) As I said before, you will want to wait until somebody does a Let's Play of this quest, because level 9 is one of the hardest dungeons ever made for a Zelda Classic quest.

Finally beat level 7 and 8.  Excellent quest DarkMatt!!!

Also there is one area on the main map I have not been able to get to, from the top right corner, 1 left.

Flippers get me there, but need something else, maybe the power gloves?

Also, is there a double magic in this game?

Hi all,

I could REALLY use a little assistance with this quest.  I'm on "real" level 9, and I've beat "fake" level 9 to acquire the silver arrows.  I'm now stuck at two dead end places (all towards the beginning of the level) without any keys: the seven "I" block puzzle and the room with red and blue pools and two pushable blocks.  I've spend a considerable amount of time in both rooms, but I can't figure out the solution.  I've found the compass, as well as the warp in room full of blocks, but that just leads me to a room that takes me right back to the beginning of the level.

As far as I know, I have every item I should to this point (everything but bracelet powerup and red ring, I believe).  If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks!

Well, I made a small bit of progress.  I found the first key, and that led to the second.  I have opened both locked doors I can open without being able to push blocks, but both have led to dead ends (unless I'm missing something, and that's likely the case).  I've attached a screenshot of the rooms I've visited; I suspect the only way to make further progress is to solve the "I" block puzzle.  I've seen a references in this thread to the answer being elsewhere (I'm not sure if that means in level 9 or somewhere else), but I've looked in every single room for some sort of design that these blocks could be pushed in to but no such luck.

If someone could nudge me where to go from here, I would certainly appreciate it.  Thanks again.

Thank you.  That's exactly what I've been doing, but I must not have identified the proper pattern as of yet.  I'll keep trying.

I've spent another hour and a half trying to solve this without any luck.  Should I be looking for a pattern to mimic in a room that has an pattern by itself or one in a room that is part of a larger pattern?

Stuck in the exact same place.  I got the silver arrows in I guess the fake level 9, but Map shows a lot more rooms on the level with the arrows, can those rooms be gotten too?

I believe the rest of that level is fake.  I'm still stuck on the "real" Level 9, so if you (or anyone) figure out the roman numeral 1 / I block puzzle, please let me know.

I am stuck in the exact same place as heldmacm.  I do have 7 magic containers and all 16 heart containers.  Figured out the "I" puzzle, now I have a key, but cannot get to any locked door to use it.  No Idea what the red and blue tiles are for, in 2 of the rooms.  Will keep trying....

I have not found the Red Ring, or Power Gloves. saw some clue that said entrance and dive but cannot figure it out yet.

Can anyone please give me a hint on where to find the 1/2 magic?

I also need to find the 8th. magic container,  I think I found most under bushes.

Darkmatt - good game, very hard!!!  My hand is healed enough to work the controller again....

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

With some assistance, I solved the "I" puzzle, but I was surprised at what was in the chest, as I expected it to be the power glove / bracelet upgrade.  I now have two spare keys, but without that item, I don't see any way to use either one, as all locked doors I can see are blocked by black blocks I can't move.  I don't know if there's a room I can access that I don't realize I can get to (I assume that's the case) or what, but I could definitely use some major assistance to make further progress in this level.  Thanks again for everyone's help.
