hmm. maybe. guess I need to insist on 1.90 from here out. I think I'd have noticed that! I did a lot of test runs and that is early in the game, so I'm almost positive it is a version issue. congrats on level six. level seven is easy. kind of. I guess getting the outdoor item(s) isn't too simple. well, keep me posted on your progress. I'd also appreciate any comments about errors or things that don't seem right. thanks for playing!

dungeon redesign is very unlikely. the shape and size of each is correlated to the overworld above it. aside form dungeons, I'd love to hear your ideas. HOW ABOUT A SUBSCREEN ITEM SCREENSHOT, SO I CAN SEE YOUR PROGRESS? have you been using any help resources? feel like you are missing anything? too hard? too easy? too confusing? holler!

Okay i say this about the quest: not to hard, not to easy, but frustrating sometimes.

JudasRising has now beaten the quest. congrats! good job and thanks for playing! how much did you look toward the help in this thread? are there items you didn't get? did you attempt the bonus dungeon? did you get to play with the twins or their gameboy? I hope you had fun. it'd be sweet if you'd post a review at http://www.purezc.co...ge=quests&id=65 and give it a zero-to-five-star rating. thanks, again! holler!

I will be posting an update by 8/1/10, I think. I'll be getting my PC back next week. can't do anything until then, but, YES, I will be making an updated release. I have changed a lot of little things that weren't quite right, like infinite money rooms and whatnot. got to get the disk it is on from Delaware. I'm in Massachusetts, now. soon, I PROMISE! thanks for checking in, buddy!

of course I know you. not sure where that doubt crept in from... have a Mac (10.4.11, so the Mac builds are too new for it) at home, but I'll be visiting my moms next week and I will get my PC out of storage and I will have to fly home with it, somehow (bulky). I'd love to take you up on the offer of a computer, but it isn't practical. would cost a small fortune to ship from Ill Annoys. how long have you been in Chicago?

Any idea you'll update it so it doesn't require version 1.90 as PCs nowadays can't run DOS?

Victor: I don't understand about the July 1st thing. did you just move there? if so, where were you before? I thought you were in Eurasia. I don't know... well, I'll let you know when the update is ready.

Sephiroth: a conversion away from 1.90 is not likely. somehow I don't think "computers can't run DOS anymore" is the issue so much as Microsoft makes all things as impossible to use as they can, requiring as much work and software and hardware as they can sell you in the name of upgrades and advancements that are anything but. just a hunch. if my game is only for the few capable and willing... I'm okay with that. much better than trying to redo the treenose bump combo thingies, the spawn markers and all of the other whatnots that a conversion would necessitate. fucdat. I might even start building a new quest with the same old program. 1.90 for life!

edit: plan is to change the order and locations of some items. herb before any kief is available. forced to pick up the custyblue glass bowl by having at the base of the ladder to the glassware shop. get fuel after shocker/flamethrower so it is a shocker for part of level seven. hmm... maybe have that as a reason to go into the dark world... hehe. word. I'll just make the old location have one more stick of dynamite. this is going to take a few days. new estimate of rerelease is August 4th, 2010. anything else I should be changing?

another edit: should I just move the fuel to where the shocker (wand) is and put the shocker in level five? it's not a weapon I ever use (until getting the fuel/book), so I forget what it is like. is it like the white sword? still looking for somebody to do the dark forest up as a proper sidequest. it is currently pretty pointless and it is likely to remain that way (even if I put the fuel there) for quite a while (pretty sure I have a list somewhere with fixes/changes left to implement -- these would come first). it has been aimless and pointless for a while, too. I guess it would be easy enough to make it a winding path through the trees with a boss at the end... almost ambitious.

got that bulky computer as carryon luggage back from moms' and have started implementing the changes mentioned. it has been a long time. I am happy to be using zquest after a long break. any tiles I should be changing? anything else I should be addressing?
