Any tips for beating the True Final Boss?

So, this guy has to be vulnerable to the Tablets depending on the element he's using right? If so, I can't remember what weakness each element has...

As an additional tip for the final boss...

When he dips below 100 health, he'll start rapidly cycling between the elements. At this point, trying to keep up with him and cycling through your tablets is more effort than it's worth, and likely to get you killed, especially since he gains a new attack to catch you off guard. It's easiest to stick exclusively to wind at this point, so that if he suddenly launches something nasty at you, you can jump out of the way.

Where might I find the flippers?

I've got (or had) the four keys, three orbs, five of the tablets but I'm going nowhere.

After you beat Trinexx, you open up a new area of Nightwood Grove. Follow that path back into a new section of Lavaflow and you'll eventually wind up on a screen with a very suspicious torch. Solve the puzzle there and you'll get the flippers.
