The issue with L2 is that is just musical puzzles... the layout doesn't offer nothing. I loved the first puzzle, the second, the third... by the tenth musical puzzle, the gimmick got really old, and I was tempted to close the quest and start to play Z1 instead. Seriously. I appreciate the creativity of these puzzles, but they were overused.

Considering the name of the dungeon. I think music was not only the gimmick of the dungeon, but the entire theme of the dungeon. :P What did you honestly expect? Lol

Unfortunately, I might add that pretty much none of these dungeons have a centralized theme that shouts out. Pretty much the entire quest is more focused on it's design on the dungeons themselves. I feel, from your argument here is that you are probably not going to enjoy many of this quest's dungeons as you did PL because you want this quest to be a PL clone.

It's designed differently. That doesn't mean it's designed bad.

It's just got a different direction. A different approach. Themed dungeons where "theme" is the main focus are kinda becoming old anyways. Chances are, that's probably why dungeon 2 was my least favorite dungeon. It was a themed based dungeon in a quest with dungeons that doesn't really seem to have any defining themes in them entirely.

IMO, dungeons in Zelda shines when the layout itself is a puzzle (Water Temple-Spirit Temple in OOT, Stone Tower in MM, Eagle Tower in LA, L9 in Z1, etc). When the rooms individually are the puzzles, the experience isn't the same. Puzzles in single rooms break the pace. If they are scattered, no problem. But if you put a slow puzzle in every room, we get pace problems quickly. That's why Miyamoto was a genius, and Aonuma (Mr. Easy GimmickyPuzzle) is a shadow.

Sorry for the offtopic xd

In level1 to get past the Boss lock on the west side I'm told to explore the east rooms. Have done all that but cannot see any path to avoiding Boss lock Could someone please explain where this path is? Thankyou.

Enjoying the quest so far.

Ive taken a break from exploring hidden Kasuto to come back to level 1 to help you.

From the entrance, go 1 screen up, 1 screen right, 1 screen up. Then play the plant aria. You should be able to access a new part of the ground floor.

If you haven't got the plant Aria yet, then you need to beat the sub boss.

After defeating Ent, Link obtains the bomb bag. Zelda instructs Link to head to Lost Woods to the Eastern part of Hyrule to get a song that allows him to gain access to ancient doors. This song will allow Link to gain access to Urzula's Castle. Meanwhile, the world leaders are giving Gogol tribute. Except, Level 1 definetly had a theme. xD I don't know about the other dungeons yet, but Level 1 does.

I guess that's true. To be honest I don't think I even fully knew what I was even talking about last night. It was very late. There was certainly some disconnect between what I was trying to say and what I actually did say. lol

How exactly do I lift the curse in that one cave with a pond and a chest near Ursula's Castle?

So I just got the
Spoiler
but Zelda keeps telling me to search there. I'm now ready to tackle level 5. Still have the energy barrier in front of it though, and slashing it doesn't seem to do anything. Why is she still telling me to search there when I use the ocarina to contact her? Is there even more to that town?
