Trudatman...! How many times I forgot to ask you this question???? What I supposed to do with that "GAS CAN" I've found on that room??? there's no car to drive in here, and no gas station to purchase any gasoline though"....then what that gas can" doing on this quest? that one thing, I never found explanation for....

that's the fuel for the taser that makes it a flamethrower. essentially it's the book. that made my day, dude.

....don't know how to get to the rooms on the right in level 6. Also still can't find the sunglasses.

some levels have more than one entrance. the sunglasses are the hardest item in the game to find, but, like I keep saying, almost every overworld screen has an item on it and a room beneath it. good luck and thanks, again, for playing!

I'm doing a lot of work on it, yesterday and today (and tomorrow?) and there'll be yet another update from me soon. more and bigger changes than the last few, but getting there. everybody's comments and questions help me fix, improve (I hope!) and modify the beast that is HowHigh.qst. MANY THANKS.

OK, I managed to get into the second part of level 6 but now realize that I need the fuel to get another key. Where might the fuel be, pls? I looked in level 7 and in the dark world, but keep getting killed by the deathknight. (Hope that's not where the fuel is...)

it's [no longer] in level nine. even some dungeon rooms have hidden rooms beneath them. good luck!

I finished it, but never did get the lens or hookshot. The last sword I got was from the cloud area, but I don't think that was the best sword available. Pretty fun game, but a lot more frustrating that most. Part of the problem might be that there are so many objects to have to burn, shoot, etc. that it can become tiresome trying to find items. Suggest you make the lens a bit more easily available to help remedy that issue, or else be willing to divulge its exact location upon request. Thanks for your help.

I still plan on doing a lot of work on the quest (today), ridding it of it's glitches (there are still a few, no matter how many times I play it) like the enemies getting stuck on the sides of the screens and whatnot. I may move around the hookshot and hammer and other later items. I've also changed a few rooms/screens that didn't feel right to me, so expect the next update to be significantly different, at least in the second half of the game. thanks to everybody who played it and made a thread about a 1.90 quest reach a dozen pages! y'all are awesome. Vravelo, I'll be looking to you to run through it AGAIN when I update, if you are willing. soon.

edit: still plugging away. lots to do. played through level six and made a lot of changes, many more to go. big list, half crossed out as done. full page, list.

another edit: did a bunch more. I also made a more careful list of which items you get and when, so the first post in this thread now lists THIRTY-NINE unique items, not including money and food and heart containers, broken down by chapter. check that out.

I sadly cannot yet claim to be done building this beast, but I do still intend to. same problem as always: keeping a clunky old computer running. even if I get 1.90 running on my Mac through a DOS emulator, I still need last year's newest version of the quest file off a floppy disk that is hundreds of miles away (moving a lot hasn't helped). so, not this week, but still a plan. been making this game for a decade, it seems. quite nearly. well, anybody play this thing lately? 1.90 love!

none one will install the p layer v1.90 Cuz is to old and is D.O.S stuff!
But this quest of your perform really god with the v192..184 () and player 192b163
no need to install v190
As soon you make any update,, please make a lot of noise so I can notice --thanks

with windows XP this quest is performing good with the v2.10 player!
I'm half of the way(a test) and haven't hit any bug yet!

newer builds don't change enemies and terrain? word. going to try to get a DOS emulator running on the Mac so I can get back to this stuff.

edit: nope.

so, I'm still looking for help with three things. one, I would like somebody to check out the music in the quest. I believe it is all some type of Zelda music, but it has been many years since I heard it (the computer I have used for ZC/ZQ has no soundcard). check it out and tell me if it sucks. if it does, maybe you could change it for me. two: I have the start of a darkworld that I still want somebody to work on. I will likely never do anything with it, otherwise. three: I would like a video of HowHigh being played. maybe just the first few minutes... I cannot do this. feel like helping with any of that? holler. word. thanks for reading this.

I beat Level 1 and do not know where to go next. I found an item near the snow on the one of the bottom screens and have no idea what it is?

you have the sword and the bombs and the boomerang and four hearts and the glass bowl (cross)? you are doing good. next step is finding the not-quite-ready-for-business glassware shop. fun at all?
