Has anybody beat this VERY challenging quest. I could use some help in level 7. Looks like I need the flippers? How 'bout some of you old timers trying this out and helping me. You won't be dissappointed.

Hi! Mr Snooze!! I like to fight on the same quest you are fighting too!
Right now I'm tight on time
I'll go and see this quest tonight may I get some hints of some sort...?
on the other hand , I'm re-playing this quest again (did never beat it)

I am having trouble getting the master key in level 7. I also have 2 regular keys and haven't found where to use them. I will keep trying. This is where I have been so far. As you can see I am dying here.

This is the room I need to get to via the stairs, does anyone know how?

You should've tried e-mail if you mustered up the courage to PM me.

Anyway, glad to see this quest is still being played.

As mentioned before, cosmofield completed this quest. (and did a good job on it too.) I did to ensure it was possible to complete it from start to finish. (However that's not the reason at all. I had to find out which build it could be finished on.) A beta tester of mine did. I can ensure you this quest can be completed. It just, stops being nice after about level 3, and really starts to challenge you.

As for your current plight, Mister Snooze: have you ever played second quest?

EDIT: Also, I need to resubmit this quest for the actual databse. I just completely forgot how to do it.

so I can bump this?

I started playing, in a sloppy, "died maybe 200 times" way

I don't know what to make of this, and I am now in that crazy lv 5 with all the invisible foes, and what seems like a lack of keys and not finding the speedy, invisible dodongos amusing.

I died about a million times on the first boss. Need to get me a better shield. Also, the first time I fought the big moldorm it left the screen and never came back. >:{

I LOVED the design for level 1, how it's almost two dungeons in one. Very creative. What I HATE though is mandatory kill-all-monsters rooms on the main path to the boss room. If you die on the boss you just want to have another go as quick as possible, right? So why make me have to fight rooms full of ropes/keese/gels over and over and over again?

No, I mean level 1 is designed so that you play through it once and get the bomb bag, which lets you get the map, which you use to play through it a second time - going through the rest of the rooms you couldn't access before/didn't know existed.

I'd be saying the same thing too if I hadn't just played the new La-Mulana and realized how much I've been babied by video games not kicking you back and telling you to work your way up again if you die at a certain point.

Look at it another way, you'll be punished if you die to the boss, so you want to make your trips to him count.

Oh and for the first boss, you want to get timing down. I admit trying to dodge fireballs while on conveyors is finicky and hard to do, but once you figure it out it should be easy enough.

Oh and here's an entertaining quip since you're talking design aspects: What I wanted to do for the first level is have a sort of mundane boss that you'd find in some generic quest. In this case, this was 2 Aquamentises, which is not hard at all if you know what you're doing; a tad impossible to do without taking damage but you can definitely beat 2 Aquamentises with 3 hearts, a wooden sword, and 10 downsized bombs. Afterwards, I would give you the courtesy to heal your health, then I would show you a REAL boss.

To put it in words, it was me giving you something you might consider a real test, while I considered a mere pittance. After you thought you were triumphant and worthy of praise, I'd go show you to your real challenge.

Level 4 is the northwest of the map. It's on square 04 using zquest coordinates. You can get there by going a bit southwest of level 3 across a bridge or by going a bit north and then west from level 1. After the screen with the shallow water go one west and then three up and one east for level 4.

I'm a bit stumped with level 7 myself. For the love of me I can't find the flippers. Well I assume I'm missing the flippers anyway unless there's something obvious I'm missing.
