Making this so there's a simple way to ask for help regarding both the A-Side and B-Side variations of Saint James Place!

 

I'll be checking this thread for when there are questions, and I'll answer appropriately. Though, be sure to highlight which version of the quest you're talking about when asking for help!

 

Also, feel free to report any bugs you find in this thread too!

Been playing for a bit, and I am really liking the challenge of it.  I am working my way through the A-side version, and for the life of me, cannot seem to find the bracelet.  There is 1 key door I have not opened, but do not have any keys available, so I think I may have used one out of order somehow.  I have what I believe to be the first 4 pcs of the Triforce (top 2 pcs, and the side points on the bottom of the triforce along with the following items:

 

• Bomb bag
• Ladder
• Blue Candle
• Blue Ring
• Bow and Arrows (not sure if silver or not as they are blue in color)

I have been over most of the Yiu map, but cannot find where to go next or what to do and I seem to be block by stones I cannot move without the braclet/glove item

 

Any help will be most appreciated.

Hi Joelmcool and thanks for this nice quest. I´m stuck really early in the game. I have got the bomb bag and filled it up with 20 bombs.  Looks like I need the ladder to go on. I´m missing a key in level 2 and I wonder if it is possible to use  keys in wrong order. I need a key to the door left down in level 2. Is the ladder there ?

Thanks for taking the time to play the quest! There should be an item to collect in Level 4, located beyond the one key door that is locked at the very start of the dungeon. There's a rather sneaky key to collect in that dungeon, where - in the room before the boss - you'll need to push a certain block up to unlock the door to the right. Here, you'll get a key which will grant you access to the locked door. If you've already found this key, there should be a key in the other three dungeons that you might have skipped over.

It should be fine if you use the keys in the wrong order; there are two keys accessible from the beginning of Level 2, with one of them being accessible if you bomb a wall. From the start, if you head north, and then west, you'll find a room with a red goriya and two wall-masters. Here, you'll need to bomb the northern wall, which will grant you the missing key.

playing through B side right away and im pretty sure ive done everything the quest would allow me to up to the point im currently at. ive been through all 8 dungeons and finished 1-4 as well as 6. am wondering if this was the one time where i should have grabbed the potion instead of the heart container for the one choice it was given to me. anyway, i seem to be stuck in 3 specific rooms. the boss room of level 8 with the multiple batrobes, the top left most room in level 5 before the top corner with the completely covered resetting floor and splitter darknut, and finally the deathknight surrounded by statue shooters in level 7. ive scoured the entirety of the overworld and even went back through each completed dungeon with the lens which got me the magic key. I dont see myself realistically beating either of these rooms without some form of 1 time heal, unless there is some way to get an actual sword upgrade. clearly the wooden is stronger than the white in this case

Brave to be playing the B-Side; that made is completely unbalanced and was never intended to actually be beaten lmao - nevertheless, there should be a screen near the starting area with a choice between the blue ring and white sword (you can only pick one), and I believe the only way to get potions is to sacrifice a Heart Container expansion. The plan was to never alter the quest and leave it in its pure form, though if it's proving impossible I may need to start making some adjustments...

Edit: For the room in Level 5, you should be able to half-tile certain parts of that screen (thereby not resetting the room). Could be helpful, but I'll release an update for the B-Side to make these screens easier to handle.

i tried picking the white sword to see what would happen, but all it did was downgrade the damage to that of the wooden sword, so the blue ring was the superior option. as far as potions are concerned, i didnt feel there was a need for one until i got to those 3 rooms i mentioned. even at full health, i would need to be extremely lucky in the level 5 room with all the mirror robes to not take damage before the splitter. then i would need to make my way to the top of the room below the door and not take any form of knockback while hoping the splitter dies fast enough, while also making sure that the blue darknuts dont go wandering off, all the while taking constant damage from the statues. i can see why it would seem impossible, but if i made it this far in the quest, i have to see if i can do more. im just curious if theres actually some form of item in that room after the splitter, or if i should just try and fight the fire gleeok of the dungeon.

Ah yeah I forgot I did that with the White Sword... Best of luck with the attempt to beat the B-Side, anyhow. I released an update that makes these three rooms slightly easier, and gave an actual option to buy a potion (though it costs max rupees). Feel free to download the update if you feel the pure form is too difficult!

Edit: Didn't see the last bit there; yes there is an item after the splitter in Level 5 - probably a really helpful item that'll make things a lot easier for the other rooms...

Thanks for help. Of course I had missed the N bomb wall. Anyway, I have beaten level 5 and have 14 hearts but still the first tree sword, also the mini shield from the beginning. It would be nice to have a better sword and shield when going on. Can I get them by now ?

You should be able to get both the Blue Ring and the White Sword by now; the White Sword is located in Level F (one screen above where you purchased the Wooden Sword), and the Blue Ring is located in Level D (in the screen before the boss, bomb the wall to the south)! The large Shield will be located in a shop in the centre-north of Yiu!

That's odd; in my testing the staircase seems to appear fine (in the screen to the right of the shop with the wallet and upgraded Shield). I'm not entirely sure why the staircase won't reveal itself, and I can't seem to replicate the bug as you describe it... Just as a check, which version of ZC are you using?

That is really peculiar then... I'm not sure what's going on here. The most confusing part is that it seems to work fine on my end, so I'm not sure what is causing it to bug out on your side.

The only thing I can think of is that the secret isn't actually being triggered; are you certain you were able to activate the secret? There is a single tile on the screen that activates the draining of the lake (with the staircase appearing along-side that). You'll need to stand on the ground below the first waterfall on the left (try and line yourself up to the mountains on the left). Using the whistle ANYWHERE else means not activating the secret, you'll simply just hear the song and nothing will happen.

 

I have found all levels, except 6. Where is it?

Level 6 will be located three screens north of Level B, so from the starting screen if you move one screen to the right, and then walk north from there, you'll find the dungeon!

ok it does work if i stand in a specific spot. i was just assuming that it could be used anywhere, while the lens didnt help not showing a specific tile. problem solved at least. thank you
