Let's Plays
For those looking to get a good feel for the quest but who don't have the will to play it themselves, Eppy (who's previously done a Let's Play for I Hate Mayonnaise) has uploaded a series of YouTube videos of him playing through the entire quest! They also double as a good video walkthrough. So check 'em out! Note that they contain a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit of swearing. Also note that these are pretty out-of-date; I think Eppy's done a more recent one that's probably better. I'm not sure, but I figured it was worth mentioning since it shows the quest as it was in 2011 and it's changed a fair amount since then. I really gotta get back into watching Let's Plays...

What tileset did you use? It doesn't look like Bloodstar's...

Well it does a little, but a lot of it looks pretty new...

It's still the LTTS tileset! For the most part. Being the kind of guy who can't leave well enough alone, I've modified pretty much all of the palettes (the caves and The Radical stayed the same, mostly, although I did enhance the border color) and added a bunch of new tiles and tweaks to the graphics.

(As a related aside: I'd have liked to replace the Newfirst trees/DoR bushes with something a little more... 8-bit... but I couldn't find a suitable replacement. The default classic trees don't really look too good to my eyes, and I've never really liked how the bushes are just tiny trees instead of proper bushes... ... The extra trees that did look good didn't really fit the mood of the quest. Maybe someday in the future, I'll do an even bigger graphical overhaul that'll fix this issue... among numerous others I keep noticing.)

I dunno then...Something about those classic walls in your screenshot seems to clash more than it did in LttS...maybe I'm just crazy...

I just finished level one - nothing but high marks !! Good challenge, graphics are fine, creative offerings...but most important, you made me think a few times as to what to do !! And it's only level one.am hoping the difficulty curve and surprises keep rising!! Looks like a big winner here in the early going....nice job, Rambly!!

Where is level 2?? ( I have been through the maze and did that that level). The ladder has opened up things to the west....but level 2, where art thou?

Will it work on 2.5b18 (the 2.5 version I currently have installed)? Or do I need to download RC2 or RC2.5?

I'd recommend using RC2. It'll probably work fine in RC2.5 too, but I've noticed that version tends to be crashy/unstable (at least on my computer)... so...

Will it work on 2.5b18 (the 2.5 version I currently have installed)? Or do I need to download RC2 or RC2.5?

I dunno, as I don't have a copy of b18 handy to test on; I really wouldn't count on it working in that version, though... I'd stick with RC2 or 2.5.

I have the Sunny B. Light , shield, letter to get potions, sword upgrade,found the heart by the waterfalls....but level 2....where the devil are you?

Hi all,

Two questions, how can i enter the room above the triforce and on the bottom right side there is a room with a rupee. But i can't bomb up or walk througt. I miss a short key.

Is the Northern Tear the way to level 2? I found level 2.

Yup! It's somewhere up there... I promise it's not hidden or anything. Just kinda out-of-the-way. Like Zelda 1's level 2, actually...
Anyway, I recommend that you view the overworld map and look for screens with open paths to them you haven't checked if you can't find it.
