Good, but a better screen example would be nice. You could make the walls intended for Layer 1 and the floor intended for layer 0.

This reminds me of the NES game Legacy of the Wizard's house or inn scenes.

It would be rated higher if it were a more complete scene. This alone isn't as useful as you'd think. Interesting start though.

I am rating this a 4 because I admittingly don't like the visual style or shading on these. However, the idea behind this is quite lovely. I could imagine a OoT styled shop that uses this setup.
I would've rated it a 3 but since it's a simple rip I won't judge the creator's graphical skills on you.
