No, don't play this! Play Mega Man: Link Edition

The only thing this does right is clever use of FFCs in the final boss.

You can't even get to the final boss without opening ZQuest and fixing the arrival point in the save room before it.

If you fix that arrival square I'll edit my star rating.

I have all sorts of problems with this quest honestly. Those quick beams were annoying...I unfortunately have to give this a 1/5. Sorry dude. :( Me when I'm being honest.

Cons:
  • Honestly, I liked the previous one better. This one has levels with hardly any enemies, no weapons to obtain from "robot" masters, and a short Wily level with no enemies but the boss.
  • I hardly ever used the potions. I think I honestly only used one on the wizzrobe guy that has falling boulders, to keep from dying to the boulders. I almost had to use one on the Heat Man guy.
  • I couldn't figure out how to beat the darknut enemies at the beginning of Metal Man's level. I never got the hammer, either.
  • I agree about the spikes outside Metal Man's level. At first, I couldn't tell why I was getting hurt by seemingly nothing! They blend in with the background texture.

Pros:
  • Kudos on the end boss, though! Nicely done! :) I have no idea how you made him! (I'm not too fond of its name, though.)
  • I also liked the fact that you could potions from the "select screen" in between levels.
  • The levels were not too hard. :) Pits and Quick Beams were the worst obstacles.

Overall, it could have been much better. It wasn't too hard, which is nice, but for a game based on Mega Man, there should've been more enemies. The previous Mega Man quest was more satisfying.

From my understanding, this is actually a portion of a fuller quest cut out and packaged as its own thing. Seeing as, I believe, this is a fairly big difference in gameplay style than the rest of the quest it came from, and still plays like a completed project, this isn't much of a problem. The only real problem with this is that it feels like it has a couple of leftovers from the main quest. And by that I mean a magic container you can grab but never actually use, and the ending being only a screen with a guy saying "End" in a message string.

On to the quest itself, it's... okay. It's playable, if not annoying in some areas with keese and death pits. The sprite work on the "select screen" is... not quite good, and the bosses themselves are, well, stupidly easy. Most of the stages are fine, though Quick Man's is kind of bad, but I hate Quick Man lasers to begin with. The random spike tiles that don't really look that much like spikes on the Metal Man select screen are kind of dumb. That's all there is to comment on negatively, but all in all, it's a... decent waste of thirty minutes. Not quite good, but not entirely bad.

I also streamed this quest and later uploaded it to YouTube, you can view it here if you like.

While a fun little joke quest you can't actually beat it. When you go to enter the final dungeon Link gets stuck in a door and the only way to go is back out of the dungeon. I somewhat assume that was intentional?

EDIT: Oh. You End Game and restart. Of course.

And that's the game... hah...

Happy Anniversary Mega Man II...?
