I replayed this recently having played it first in early 2015. Since then, the quest has indeed been polished very nicely. All of the real annoyances, bugs, and downright unfair parts of the quest have been nerfed or fixed enough that it is an enjoyable play through to the end.
Others have already said it better than I can, but the design of this quest is brilliant. The dungeons are all complex, yet straightforward at the same time. The overworld is enjoyable and easily navigated with shortcuts. There are lots of secrets to find in previously explired areas, so be observant.
The only possible con I can think of is a lack of custom bosses. Personally, I think custom scripted bosses are overrated and badly executed in most of the quests I've played, so no loss IMO.
Honestly, I think this quest belongs somewhere in the top 10 of ZC. If you havent played it yet, or maybe if you haven't played since it was first released, you ought to give this quest a try.
