RULES

1) You will die many, many, many painful and cruel deaths.
2) The quest maker will stoop to anything.
3) Everything is potentially a puzzle. Everything.
4) If something looks impossible, it either is or you're approaching the problem incorrectly.
5) If you don't think, you will be severely punished.
6) Brains over brawn.
7) This is the wilderness; there aren't actually any rules.

This is a game I've been working on for my own enjoyment for a long time now. Because I've made this for myself, the quest is very, very hard. Don't feel bad if you can't complete it! Any land gained or dungeon defeated is a great accomplishment whether you reach the end or not! Don't take this quest personally either. The demo takes me 3 or so hours and I know all the solutions tot the puzzles so I expect it to take people a long time.

The reason I'm releasing this demo is to polish off what's wrong. If you hate the entire game, sorry, I'm not starting over from scratch. I will however change any specific criticisms you have about the quest. I'd love to hear them!

I would love to see LPs or streams of this quest! If you're thinking of doing one, PM me. I'd love to watch you play it. :)

Note: One thing wrong with the demo is that you can currently camp in doorways. This will not be available in the final build so I would appreciate if you stayed out. Thanks yous ;)

This game is quite interesting and different. Before I go any further, this review contains spoilers.

The goal of the creator is to make a quest that makes you use your head and not your fighting prowess. I consider myself to be one of the most skilled (In terms of fighting prowess) Zelda Classic players on this website. With that said, yes the author did accomplish his goal in making you use your head in battle. You can not survive with skilled fighting alone in this quest.

So, what kind of examples do I need to use my head over my strength. Well ... you don't get your sword until level 2. In level 1, you must use mirrors and your small shield (Dungeon Item) to reflect rocks back at enemies. You fight blue wizzrobes and a mirror robes with mirrors that you must arrange yourself in level 1. That is pretty cool. In Goomba Valley, you must avoid goombas that are hyper aggressive and one shot you. Some of the ways you must avoid them are quite clever. In level 3, you must fight a death knight without any tool to stun him and without a beam sword. Pretty much you fight enemies WAY out of your league and the rooms are designed in a way where you can defeat them. Very good job.

There are some things about this quest that I don't agree with. One of the puzzles in level 2 are works a little differently than the other puzzles and, unless you can spot the difference right away, you will be dying a lot at that part. Not knowing where to refill bombs can be a little annoying at first. I didn't care for the way the bombuchu room was set up in level 2 (Requires a lot of waiting). Some of the puzzles through out the game, while easy after knowing the solution, required some close attention to detail. One of them requires you to look up Morse code.

I really want to see this game finished. I give it a 4/5 for now.

This demo is interesting to say the least.

I mean, it's good... But it's not that good. Kinda like I said in the LP. It's not bad, but I can only see this appealing to a very strict audience.

It's hard, it's as hard as the author says it is, and in fact I didn't get very far in my 20 minute cap, and since my son woke up, I didn't bother extending the cap to 30 minutes or greater.

I died quite a few times, and it's just a demo. I'd recommend this if you want a challenge (challenge if you're okay with having 3 hearts walking through a linear path of traps that take off 1 heart each).

Either way, I enjoyed the challenge, but I'm not sure if I would like this quest in the long run, it's really difficult to say at this point.
