Link escorts Zelda home after having long been captive.  Link receives a hero's welcome as the people cheer for Zelda's return. (That's Captain Mido in the blue hat behind them; he and his crew helped Link get there and back.)

Generic tHP inspired DoR forest.

Voted for Sheik's, it's got an amazing Alundra/Secret of Mana vibe.

Considering Link's size, he must be animated by FFC.  I'd love to see more.

Thank you Cjc. About seeing more of this - it might happen but it might just as well not. This thing has been WIP for years now, sometimes it's closer to Secret of Mana (SD3 mostly), sometimes it's closer to the Minish Cap, right now it's closest to LttP (or much rather, Radien's DoR). Some of the stuff is from Treasure of Rundras by the way, such as the tree those treetops where edited out of. As for Link, it's a modification of the Sword of Mana (GBA) male hero and while I never bothered making a full Link sheet at least the basics shouldn't be super hard to get down considering I have a good base to work from. Right now it's not functional (as in: set up), though.

So yeah, this is in the contest merely to get things going (TS reported a shortage on screenshots for 445 and I felt like I could contribute to the contest). Plus, maybe somebody feels inspired by it and whatnot.

Edit: Oh! I nulled, of course, but I might have voted for Rambly. That screen's got a really nice vibe.

I really like Lightwulfs shot :). Nulled because of obvious reasons...

I voted for Sheik, so atmospheric and beautiful. This or Rambly had my vote for sure, Sheik just had a little bit more screen structure that I liked.

Rambly's mountain screen makes me jelly. Like Sheik's, this shot has so much atmosphere and looks beautiful. It's a good shot I thi

Lightwulf's has a nice scenario going on. It would be cool if it rained confetti just to had more celebration that the princess has returned.

Hoff123's is nice. Takes me back to the Fairy Woods in Oracle of Ages. I just don't know about the position of the pits/rocks/tall grass is all.

voted for Rambly. A nice, simple, but not too simple pure-shot with a well looking cset. ^^

Hard between Lightwulf and Sheik...

Sheik's forest screen is beautiful, with such an amazing forest scene.

Lightwulf makes excellent use of the classic set. This scene also gives me a vibe of what happens at the end of Pokemon X/Y (spoiler alert btw)

I ended up going for Sheik, mostly because that forest shot is damn gorgeous. If his shot wasn't there, I'd pick Lightwulf.

Great turnout at absolute worst. I voted for Lightwulf, not that Sheik's shot isn't absolutely gorgeous.

Here's what happened when I first viewed this thread:

- saw list of entrants to vote for; thought "Uh-oh! Sheik submitted a shot! I'm probably doomed!!!"

- looked at screenshots; looked at Sheik's shot :omg:

- remembered I entered and didn't need to vote; went and nulled *Phew*

Seriously though, nice shots, guys! :)  If I hadn't entered, I'd probably vote for Sheik's shot.  Maybe it's a combination of the unconventional overhead shading pattern, the lush landscape, and the awesome Link sprite that got me.

Rambly's shot is quite appealing. :)  Love the LttP-style palette and patterns!  Interesting (jelly) theme, too! :D

Hoff's shot looks quite nice! :)  I can't argue with a good GB screen!

However, the ground pattern outlines the treetop tiles for the three center trees.  It's not really a bad thing, but if it were me, I'd probably either break up the pattern by expanding the yellow area of ground or make the green pattern hang behind the outermost corners of the upper-left and upper-right trees (to round it off more).

@EddytheOliveira & Hoff123: Thanks, guys! :)

@Charizard: Thanks for the suggestion! :)  I'll take that into consideration.  I'm not sure how to pull off confetti so that people will know exactly what it is, though... I'm afraid it might turn out to look like falling soot like I've seen in other tilesets.

Took a couple of minutes before I realised what you meant(lol), but I think I get it now. Thanks for your input. It actually helps :).

I'm going to go with the masses here and vote for Sheik. The shot is amazing, has a very nice sense of color to it. It really nails the 'shady, deep forest' effect. I'm not a fan of large Link tiles, (cause of the technical hurdles you have to go through to get enemies to be to scale) but this one fits in nicely. My only critique is it looks a bit empty without enemies, but that doesn't take away from the shot.

I'd try adding in some balloons and other party decorations that might make the player realize it's confetti.
