This quest starts off pretty boring for me. Sometimes only helpforums could help me finding the next dungeon. The overworld is big and theres lot's of exploring! The cave system is amazing. I love how well the caves are connected. Good job DFW. It's also a great idea, letting the player see glimpses of future areas. Now the dungeon part: The dungeons’re really big, hard and frustrating. I think there are too many paths and dead ends (just a 20-arrow-chest or something like this). It's hard to find all needed keys. But when you finished the dungeon it feels very rewarding! They are a great challenge. The 4 main bosses are too hard, though. Great job on the final boss! All in all it's a cool game! So, I'll rate it 5 stars. It's not perfect, but much better than any other quests that are rated 5 star. Best quest in the DataBase!

Wait, I never commented on this quest? Well that's rather unsportsmanlike of me, now isn't it?
Well...what is there to say? The quest has a deep and engrossing storyline, wonderful gameplay, some pretty hardcore dungeons (I'm looking at you, Level 3...) and it'll give the player lots to do and search for. So what if you need a specific build of ZC to play it? Just download it and start playing! This one is a must-play by every sense of the word.

I wouldn't be able to give a full review because of the character limit, but I'll just give a rough explanation for my rating. If you wish to hear my full opinion as for why I gave the quest a 3/5, shoot me a PM and I'll gladly explain. The story was extremely vague, very little sense of direction and purpose has for why the protagonist continues to stay in the island. It just had no depth whatsoever in terms of the plot or character. I would have honestly preferred a quest without a story at all. The antagonist's dialog is corny and not intimidating, music choices (excluding the OW theme) were pretty bad. Just the thought of hearing any of the MIDIs used in this quest again bothers me. It has a lot of 'false difficulty' that frustrates the player instead of presenting a challenge in a better format. I didn't enjoy it much, But, you two put a lot of effort into this project, and it is a decent quest with some really annoying elements. But nothing more than that.

The most important thing about any game is to get the attention of the player right from the start. This quest fails to do that, in fact you gotta run around for 2 hours cluelessly until you find level 1. That makes players bored right from the start.
The only thing good about this quest is the overworld, even though a little cramp at times. The dungeons were horribly designed, a lot of walking around and roads that go nowhere. Very annoying and frustrating to play.
I love DFW's quests, and although it is clear she has put a lot of work in this quest, this quest is not of her best work.

As already stated by many this is one of the best quests for Zelda Classic that I have ever played through. An awesome tileset and an awesome story line were put into this quest along with many concepts and ideas I didn't think were possible in Zelda Classic at the time it was released (back during my lurker days). I wasn't expecting to see all of the corpses in the catacombs that way but after the initial shock factor dissipated for me I'm glad it was included in the quest. Definitely one of my favorite areas of the quest now though, except for a certain instant death enemy lurking in the shadows.

Uhm.... Lost Isle is the best quest I ever tried to play! It's GREAT! Great tiles, overworld, boss battles (excpet for 1st and 2nd boss battle), dungeon.
I only found the storyline too frightening and the atmosphere is very frightening, too.
The Oderra Catacombs creates a very bad and brutal atmosphere, making this quest not suitable for young children! That's why I voted the quest only 3 stars!
