Really loved this quest. I realize it is meant to be difficult, so when evaluating the difficulty I keep that in mind. While I wouldn't play quests of this difficulty caliber very often, I do enjoy a challenge such as this once in a while. For a challenge quest, the difficulty is spot on. It's insanely difficult, but I never felt it was over the top to the point where it felt impossible and I wanted to give up.
The other thing I wanted to comment on is the music. I absolutely enjoyed all of the music in this game, but especially level 8 and the overworld music. The other levels were also enjoyable. My only complaint in the music department (if you can even call it that), is that I would have liked to see the music change for the boss room. But given how great the rest of the music is, this isn't something I'd take off a star for.

This is my first quest. It is a classic style quest. There is VERY little story to it. Really the endings give you your story for the quest. I put very little directions in the game to keep with the original's style.
I recommend playing this in 2.10.2. It will mess up level 3's MIDI, but I couldn't find a better midi that didn't do the same thing. All of the others work fine.

UPDATE: Golden arrow shop is now a special item room- so it's obtainable now; level 9 typo- fixed; small detail tiles added in as well;
Per requests: Faster scrolling dungeons/overworld; 2 more hidden bomb upgrade shops -now for a total of 4 upgrades!
2nd UPDATE: Level 4 map is now accessible. Minor tile fixes as well. Level 5 is now labelled as level 5.
As Requested: Ending cutscenes now tell you when you should move up.

Tips & Cheats
In level 9, save and copy before choosing your path. There are 3 endings to find! This will make it easier than trying to start all of the way over.
If you get stuck in some levels, throw/shoot some things at walls to trigger other things to do. There are vague surroundings that point this out.
Listen to the old man in level 3!
It's possible to have the magical sword before entering level 5. So if you don't have it, or enough hearts, keep searching!
