- Check out the previous Site News entry regarding details to our most recent update to PureZC, which occurred on April 26. The site has been made more dynamic, bringing separate parts more together, now includes a non-forum based script database, and much more!
- Site changes are bound to lead to bugs. If you still notice any bugs or unusual functionality anywhere on PureZC, please be sure to post about it in the Site Bug Topic.
Hot Items
Future issues will feature new quests and other database items that have received a lot of activity or positive reviews. For this first issue, we will include submissions created since the start of this year.
- Isle of Rebrith by Evan 20000: An expansive Gameboy-styled adventure that leapt to 3rd in the ratings in only a few months!
- Quest of Light by Atrus Wonder: This quest features a big overworld and unique tileset, and encourages exploration.
- Tower of Shadows 2.5 by Avataro: A puzzle-packed quest with a central dungeon that needs to be visited several times.
Hot Projects
These are quest projects that have been active lately and have received a lot of positive commentary from members, through project update replies, screenshot comments, or demo reviews.
- The Islands of Zelda by Lightwulf: In development for over a year, this project is in beta testing and looks near release.
- Souls of Wisdom 2 by NewJourneysFire: This project, open since last June, recently released a new demo. Check it out!
- TLoZ: Soulgazer's Requiem by Charizard: Two recent updates reveal details about the storyline and one of the dungeons.
Random Quest Spotlight
A quest will be picked at random each month, to be analyzed overall based on the reviews it has received. This comes with the intent of showing quests that are sometimes missed gems.
TLoZ: Flashback by EddyTheOliveira
Originally uploaded January 2013, TLoZ: Flashback is a NES-style quest that aims to stick to the Zelda 1 style, focusing primarily on fighting enemies rather than solving puzzles. The quest currently has a rating of 4.25 with comments such as it being a "very solid LOZ style quest" and that it is "well done." Several reviewers have noted the difficulty of the quest, so if you're looking for a challenging Zelda 1 style quest, then you should check TLoZ: Flashback out!
Around the Community
Here you can keep up with some happenings around the forums.
- Screenshot of the Week has over the past weeks received a shortage of screenshots. We highly encourage more participation! Don't be afraid to submit early if that is most convenient for you. The contest starts every Sunday, but you can submit a screenshot any day of the week. More details here. This contest has been around for nearly all of PureZC's existence, going on 12 years. Help support this site's weekly tradition!
- The Enemy of the Month contest has recently been moved to the PureZC events forum. Check it out here. There's still a few days to submit a Fire/Lava enemy before this month's deadline of May 15th!
That is all for now. Stay tuned next month for the next issue!

Wild Bill

Back in 2002, a man by the username of Wild Bill committed his time and energy to the creation of a new Zelda Classic website distinguished from the rest by a commitment to quality in all facets of operation. In the face of occasional technical setbacks, he nurtured a tight community devoted to its craft, a community whose attention to excellence manifested itself not just in the exploding quest and tile databases but also in the forum.Today, eleven years later, PureZC has almost 3,000 registered users, hundreds of custom quests, and myriad custom content that can't be found anywhere else on the Internet. Of course, Wild Bill's impact defies quantification: without him, many of us would never meet, many fruitful discussions would never occur, many laughs would never be shared, many opportunities to be inspired would never be experienced.
It is with a heavy heart that we mourn Wild Bill's passing on October 26th, 2013 at the far-too-young age of 27. He may be gone, but his impact on each and every one of us will not be forgotten. We should all strive to form something greater than ourselves in life, and Wild Bill accomplished this many times over.
Thank you, Wild Bill, for all you did.
