- Evan20000 has recently stepped down from his position as a forum moderator. Thank you for your hard work, and we hope you continue to enjoy your time on PureZC as a member.
- There has been a change to the Site and Forum Rules. The "Use Common Sense" rule has been replaced with "The Elastic Clause" to better reflect the intended purpose of the rule. We ask that you please review the rules so you understand the specifics behind the change.
- Applications for the PureZC Editorial Team are now closed, and the team has been decided. Look for articles on a variety of subjects, coming soon!
- For the past several months, NewJourneysFire has been running an unofficial 2014 Demo of the Year contest. The December contest is open now, with the finals expected soon. Check it out and leave a vote for your favorites!
- Balance of Nature by ywkls: With a world inspired by Holodrum and featuring areas based on the four seasons, this quest has seen a lot of activity in the short time since its release.
- The Forbidden City by Jamian: A big quest with tons of scripted innovations, including a playable ocarina, rings and gasha seeds!
- Adam's Quest Redux by RedMageAdam: A remake of the original Adam's Quest, featuring lots of technical improvements and a world created in the Koten tileset.
- Randomizer: Outlands by HeroOfFire: This randomizer version is based on Outlands, a popular Legend of Zelda hack. If you liked the other quests in the Randomizer series, check this one out, too!
The first quest in the well-respected Randomizer series, Randomizer Classic by HeroOfFire takes everything you know about the first quest and turns it inside out. It's dangerous to go alone; take this... boomerang? Take this... wand? Take this... hammer? In Randomizer Classic, you'll never know what you'll find--or where you'll find it! With unpredictable item locations, navigating a familiar world becomes a brand-new challenge. But with 45 dungeons and 127 items to find, maybe the world isn't so familiar after all...

Welcome to the February edition of On the Green! There weren't many quests submitted this past month, but there was plenty of project activity. Does that mean a flurry of quests is on the horizon? Or maybe that's just snow ... With year-end contests drawing to close, there's plenty to check out around the forum!Staff Notes

- Scripted Step Triggers by Avataro: This simple script allows for greater flexibility with step triggers.
- GB Compass Beep by Demonlink: Adds a Game Boy style compass beep in rooms where the item hasn't been collected yet.
- The Eight Objects by Saffith: A quest in production by a major ZC developer, featuring unique enemies and game mechanics.
- The Princess' Amethyst by DaviAwesome: This may look like a classic quest at a glance, but it features a lot of custom stuff and promises challenges in both combat and problem-solving.
- Shadows of Miadra by Arceus: A story-driven quest featuring sages, a wind mage, and a unique item fusion system.
- Solaris by MoscowModder: Wait, is this even Zelda Classic? This heavily-scripted quest makes some dramatic changes to the usual system.
New Beginnings by MrMister:
It's a busy world out there, and sometimes you don't have the time or energy to devote to epic adventures of huge scale. Sometimes, a mini-quest is exactly what you need. If that's the case for you, then this bite-sized 2.10 quest might be exactly what you're looking for. Built using the BS Tileset, this miniature adventure may not have a lot of bells and whistles, but you can expect classic gameplay with smooth design. Reviewers found the quest fairly easy, and its design simple, so it may not provide much for challenge gamers. Still, if you find yourself in need of something quick and fun, set aside an hour or two and enjoy the ride.
Current and Upcoming Contests

- The Balance of Nature by ywkls: A quest set in Holodrum and featuring a large number of dungeons and custom enemies.
- The Chapters of Enova by Shoelace: This highly-anticipated project from the maker of Hero of Dreams promises a gorgeous world in the sky with some pretty unique methods of travel ...

Zelda's Butt by Spram:
Quests are like butts: the good ones are well-rounded and fun to explore, keeping your attention for hours on end. But like butts, good quests are difficult to find. So how lucky are we that PureZC's random quest function came upon Zelda's Butt by Spram? The product of eight years of development, Zelda's Butt follows the story of Link as he sets out to rescue Zelda's "very cute" behind from the clutches of Ganon. Jokes aside, this quest is absolutely charming. It uses distinctly fresh, bright graphics that beautifully convey a large world full of diverse environments. On your way between the quest's many dungeons, you'll explore lush jungles, vast deserts, slimy caves, and every other biome known to mankind. Spram does a great job of offering more than meets the eye, with subtle but fair secrets abundant across the landscape. The dungeons have some of the most creative premises and designs you'll see. It won't take long for you to wonder if the dungeons' maps are really as helpful as they seem. Thankfully, if you get stuck, there is a handy guide included with the download. If you go in expecting a simple joke quest, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find it's anything butt. So go ahead: download the file and unzip to reveal the beauty of Zelda's Butt for yourself.

Welcome to another edition of On the Green! The weather may be cold outside, but there's never been a better time to warm up with some hot spiced cider and check out everything new at PureZC.Community Spotlight
The 2014 Fall Expo has ended! Thanks to everybody who submitted a project or left feedback on their peers'.
Hot Items
- Fedora Toss by Moosh: A tip of a hat goes to this unique scripted puzzle quest where you throw hats to earn points!
- Moosh's NPC Script by Moosh: An alternative to older NPC scripts that offers a unique set of features, including item-based character appearances and safer collision detection.
- Well That's Also Something by Avataro: A sequel to his previous joke quest, this might just be the best Legend of the Zelda ever.
- Community Quest by Duck and Shane: Watch for more polls and discussions to help shape this quest project!
- Metroid: ZQuest Mission by King Aquamentus: A side-view quest remaking the original Metroid with Super Metroid graphics, this project has many impressive screenshots.
The 3 Forces by LinkFan212:
Power, Wisdom, Courage... We're all familiar with the Triforce as a symbol of ultimate strength, forever intertwined with the fates of Hyrule's heroes and villains. But fewer of us are familiar with LinkFan212's 3 Forces, a classic-styled quest building on the events in Skyward Sword. The 3 Forces maintains a quick pace through the use of short dungeons and easily navigable maps, but don't be fooled: the quest has over a dozen such dungeons and two full overworlds that are chock-full of hidden caves. As if that's not enough, dedicated challenge-seekers can enjoy a significantly harder "Heartless" version of the quest provided in the download. Reviewers praise the "secrets and surprises" The 3 Forces has to offer, but some find portions of the game to be "boring" and "repetitive." How much will you enjoy it? There's only one way to find out!

Simple Link's Awakening by King Aquamentus:
Ever wondered what Link's Awakening would be like in Classic style? No? Well, here's your answer, anyway! Simple Link's Awakening plays like a Screen Rebirth challenge in quest form. You'll explore some familiar looking areas with a unique graphical twist. As its name suggests, this demake has a simplified story compared to the original, toning down many aspects to fit more smoothly with its NES style. Some players have praised it for bringing on the nostalgia while providing a fresh experience, but watch out for bugs!
