It took over four days, but our forums are finally back. An insecure password in a moderator account allowed one to attain moderational access and prune all of the forums. The backup that we have restored is from Monday, May 17 (aged one day at the time of the attack). Some member accounts were lost; if you were deleted, please re-register.

As of today, we will be enforcing some new rules in chat related to scripts.

* Auto response scripts are not allowed unless approved by the chat staff.

* Channel message greetings are not allowed under any circumstances.

* Notice channel messages are to only be used to advertise a trigger command for a bot. A simple greeting is not allowed as it is pointless.

* If a person requests for the bot to not notice them on entry, the creator of the script should promptly add the person to a "ignore" user group that isn't noticed (this can easily be done in mIRC... which is mostly what this targets).

* /notice $chan (or #) actions are not allowed in any script.

* "Listening to" song advertisements are allowed so long as there is a delay in reporting to avoid flooding the channel in case of song switching or short songs.

* If an auto response script breaks and repeats endlessly, you will be kicked. If it continues after rejoin, you will be banned for 3 minutes.

* IRC bots must have some function to them (or display of effort in them). If they do not, and they are not approved by the chat staff, it will be considered a clone and subject to the #PureZC no clone rule.

* If a script annoys staff and you are asked to turn it off, please do so.
