I drew some diagonal cliff tiles, but they weren't ths cool!

Way too angular and flat. Having seen them in action, though, they're an interesting halfway point between "cake layer" and LTTP-style, making them a nice alternative mountain type. Hence I'll give you an extra point for innovation.
