A pretty neat quest actually, nice effort for a first quest. It was quite lengthy and full to the brim with secrets and the mix between linear progression but non-linear choices really adds a lot to this. I especially like that dungeons are kinda grouped together and depending on what you do can easily trivialise others (like if you get the flippers early then other dungeons that have water can easily be bypassed, same with the Feather). Adds quite a nice layer of replayability to it. The overworld is nicely connected, dungeons are all pretty unique and cool with their own concepts going on (I especially love the underwater dungeon that feels like OoT's Water Temple and the fire dungeon at the top of the mountain). I didn't realise the tunic was in a separate dungeon until quite late so it's pretty comical that I got the blue tunic and then the red tunic like right after in the same place lol. The difficulty is fine, quite consistent with the tier of dungeon I'm in.
The screen design is generally ok but it could use a bit more work. Some of the overworld areas look alright, but others seem a bit too bland and samey for my tastes. The mountain region to the top right is quite difficult to see since the walls and floor blend in so much with each other. Dungeons are also very hit or miss with their design, some visually look cool but others lack detail and so they appear very "empty". A bit more touching up graphically wise can do wonders. I was also worried since this was an NES-style that the tileset wouldn't really fit, but to my surprise it does actually work in some cases, especially with the freeform approach in dungeons and caves. The last dungeon I feel was a tad too long and dragged out just a bit, but it's not the worst thing I've seen.
Either way, this one gets a solid 4/5 from me. I was originally gonna give it a 3 but I enjoyed this more as the quest went on that a 4 is more fitting for this for me. Nice work!

Fun quest. Very clean and nice looking. It really is a whole new game and everything looks custom, not pieced together from a recycled tileset. The non linear approach is a little overwhelming at first but it gets much better the more you play. The dungeons (except for the final one) are very well thought out and clever; the right level of challenging without being too annoying. They have a nice pace.
I thought the final dungeon was too long and confusing, and the ending felt too brief, almost like an afterthought. Would have liked to seen a shorter dungeon and a nicer ending.
All in all a really good one! Highly recommended!
