For the rocky ground: Ground tiles shouldn't use that much black. It's like big black spider-webbing that is very distracting to the eye. The tile looks good, but it just doesn't work in Pure's high-contrast palette (a problem I have frequently when recoloring RPGMaker tiles).
The sand looks all right; it's a good sand tile. But like your water, the terrain borders seem to cast no shadows. That JUST manages to bring a 3.5 down to a 3 for me.

Here's a little something I ripped from an RPG Maker Chipset that I found. Includes a new grass style (more like an old one revamped), a new desert ground and a sort of rock-ish kinda ground. Also includes a "blank" version for layers, or over-laying on other ground types for transistions for the grass and desert.
