This quest was pretty awesome, certainly a very interesting take on a Z1 remake where half the time I forgot I was playing one lol. It starts off pretty simple and then really throws you off by having a dungeon in the overworld and having stuff all out of order from Z1 which is cool. The overworld is designed pretty well, certainly some interconnectivity here and there and the areas all served their purposes well. The Lost Woods was WEIRD but I guess that's the whole point lol. The dungeons were pretty well made, a lot of them had cool concepts and gimmicks that were consistent all the way through. A lot of the puzzles that were present were also super clever and creative and I really liked the way some dungeons did them (Level 6 especially was cool). I also do like how the compass is dealt with differently than normal where it gives you secret rooms instead of the Triforce piece, that was very nicely done. I will say though that I do think some puzzles should get some clearer hints, quite often I found myself completely stuck and the solution was something fairly nonsensical after looking up videos. This happened on several occasions so I think less cryptic stuff would be nice to have.
The difficulty was fine all the way through, nothing was too hard or too easy and there was a smooth increase all the way from beginning to end, so this was excellent. I also like the abundance of minidungeons, some were pretty short, others were long, they added quite a bit to the quest. Lastly, I can't say much on the story, it's kinda basic and simple which is all you really need. I would love to see that idea with being watched after the Harp explored more though, the quest was really taking a weird turn and then nothing kinda came out of it except for maybe one or two screens around the world and that's it. It kinda felt out of place otherwise but it could've been really cool to see that have more of a presence.
Overall yeah this was pretty great! Lots of great stuff in this one, quest looks nice and the only critique I can say is how some puzzles should be hinted at a bit better. Otherwise this gets a 4.5/5 from me, which rounds up to a 5.
