Hi! Ghost Quest is the name of the project I've been working on for the past month or two, just about, with the support of the alsoLIONSoft (the people who brought you Peril of Rectangle Country, Crucible Crest, Three Crests, and more!).

It's a 5-dungeon Game Boy Zelda adventure in the style of the original black-and-white Link's Awakening with unique Super Game Boy-esque color tones! It features an item upgrade system, new enemies, new characters, a modified version of Mitchfork's Crucible Crest engine, and more!

It's about the sweet meeting the bitter, about ghosts and occult happenings and the macabre, and other such things. It also features the same dumb offbeat humor you've come to expect from dated cringe random quests like I Hate Mayonnaise 2, so look forward to that!

❦ Cast of Characters. ❦
❧ Florette is the main playable character for most of the quest. She's a weirdo hippie art student with unusual sensibilities from the gilded town of Rafflesia. Despite her best efforts, nobody really understands or connects with her art. One day, after a particularly disastrous art exhibition at her local coffeehouse, she finds herself called to the graveyard behind Rafflesia...
❧ February, or Febby for short, is Florette's sweet, studious, level-headed older cousin. She's been someone Florette can look up to for nearly as long as Florette can remember.
❧ Laetitia is Florette's best friend and confidant. She's snobby, sarcastic, and doesn't seem to care what people think of her. For some reason, however, she stands by Florette's side through thick and thin. She loves taking photographs at inopportune moments.
❧ Jonsi is a ghost who is one of the graveyard's guardians. He likes drinking and playing poker a lot and the band Steely Dan. He's a smart-alecky slacker who seems to barely care about his job, but he's also sophisticated, intellectual, and philosophical.
❧ Tomas is Jonsi's stern and serious-minded co-guardian. He's constantly chiding Jonsi for not taking his job seriously. He's also a talking cat.
❧ Ky is the gravekeeper of the graveyard. Old age has twisted him, sapping him of his youthful spirit and rendering him hardened and cynical. (He's 20 years old.)
❧ Blanca is the High Priestess of the church in the graveyard. She seems to be a fairly free-spirited individual. Most people assume she's lax in her duties because of this, but she actually takes them very seriously.
❧ ??? is a mysterious and shadowy Poe who Florette has a chance encounter with in the graveyard. Who is she and what does she want?

❦ Features. ❦
❧ This quest uses Mitchfork's Crucible Crest engine! This means it's largely accurate to how the Game Boy games play. It also has a lotta tiny cute tweaks to make it feel even more like the original Link's Awakening!!
❧ An all new 12x12 game world with many dark caverns, deeply guarded secrets, strange characters to meet, and fascinating places to explore!
❧ Four SPOOKY labyrinths full of treacherous traps and ghoulish monsters - plus one final, macabre dungeon. DARE you enter the Keep of the Dark Maiden Poe?
❧ Many familiar Zelda items you've come to expect are collectible on the main overworld...
❧ ... but some of those items can be UPGRADED within dungeons! That's right - this means old items will have mysterious new powers never before seen!
❧ Multiple color options - play with Super Game Boy style per-area palettes or play in monochrome.
