This quest is in a genre of what I like to call "paranoia quests," where it expects you to look for one trigger out of a room full of potential ones. While a few are hinted at, others aren't, and looking for the right grave to push on a screen full of dozens isn't my idea of a good time. The Lens of Truth is attainable, but if you're expected to lens everything to find solutions, that only makes it worse in my opinion. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt there, but it still ended up being a tedious and very repetitive quest in the end. It has some very nice sprite work in the end, I'll admit that, but that can't save the quest from generally being fairly uninspired. Actually, said impressive sprite work only ended up confusing me as to what item I picked up, for when it wasn't a B button item it was hard to tell what I just received until I accidentally discovered it on my own. I'm all for the excitement of discovery but when I'm outright confused, that's not very good.

Now I do appreciate the subtle hints and clues as to some discoverable secret, and I thought your hookshot navigational puzzles were designed well, but for the most part the design of the quest is just kind of bland, and you rely way too much on maze paths. It got old, especially since one's right at the start of the game. It also made it annoying when you had to travel back to another part of the overworld, as you will always restart there if you save and quit the game, making you go through that maze again, and for some areas, a second maze, sometimes even a third! There are too many. You should have also designed it so that it's quicker and easier to get around, instead of all the backtracking. Thankfully it's not that large of an overworld, but it was still a bit of an annoyance. The dungeons now and then relied on an annoying urge to make you look for bombable or walk-through walls, and in some it was easy to completely miss the map or compass. Level eight was a mere enemy rush, and level nine barely had any substance at all, making it seem like you ran out of ideas toward the end. Speaking of enemies, there's not a ton of variety of those either, and you'll be fighting many of the same enemies throughout the quest.

It's probably worth mentioning that it's not very nice to look at either, and I'm referring to various tile errors, palette misusage, and general blandness. I know some of said tile errors are meant to hint at things, but there are other, neater ways to hint at those.

Also, I feel I should mention that the game is rather easy, and I didn't die once. Well, I did die once. Where? The freaking "thanks for playing" screen. This is not okay. It's clear there's no way to win that room, so my thought was maybe it's just some animated room for kicks and Megaman's hidden safely in the corner. Nope, that's you at the bottom, and you can get killed there. This is where I have to ask what the quest designer was thinking.

In the end, I wasn't very satisfied with this quest. It was very short, repetitive, bland, confusing, and forgettable. The one star is for the positive aspects, for when the few instances of good gameplay shined through, as well as the sprite work. But this is far from the worst Megaman-based quest on this database.

I couldn't even find Level 1..

Its great because it's a megaman game, but... it seems a little odd... but I did like Zero's appearance though.

I'm with phil on this, those same things were good.

I liked this quest. It was a nice change from zelda quests. Good job.
