This is an excellent quest. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's perfection, but considering when it was made I will instantly say it is worthy of my perfect score. It was incredibly creative, the dungeons and overworld were well-designed, and the screen design is much nicer than the screenshots would lead one to believe. I am so glad I gave this one a shot cause it was a joy to play.
My main improvements would be:
Dark Rooms (they are fine in level 3, but in level 8, they just go dark a little too quickly)
Item Switching (this would be an excellent updated feature in 2.55)
Locked Door Gauntlets (as much as I loved the dungeons, it did get a big repetitive when the end was just like 4 or 5 locked door in a row and I had to go back through the dungeon to find the keys I had missed)
Magic (it was like 99% good, but there was like a 1% that could have been improved)
A little ambiguous (this was fine and was mostly consistent, but there were cases were secrets were a bit too ambiguous. For instance, the room immediately to the right in level 8 I think could have been a bit more clear)
Overall, I would love to work with you to remake this quest with some QoL improvements. Of course with your input being the top priority.

I was screensharing the quest this morning cause I remembered seeing this back in 2014. Later told some other peeps my thoughts, and I think what I told them sums up my feelings pretty well:
"So I ended up playing an old (2014) but really interesting quest.
At first I thought it would be a mediocre quest; the screenshots had color issues, empty screen design, it was using Z1 dungeons with GB walls, nobody talked about it, I thought it would be a thing I'd put down after a couple dungeons.
However, below the mediocre screen design hid a really good gem with unique gameplay ideas, some really good execution of base engine features and minimal scripts, charming npcs, and overall it was just pretty good.
In terms of flaws, the only things I could really think of were that some kill all enemy rooms really should have stayed dead (specifically, level 8's second room, and level 7's batrobe room), but I can only think of like 2 rooms that had this problem. There was also an f6 issue if you f6 in the rope minidungeon, where you get taken back to the intro sequence and get hardlocked, praise be helix; a wrong warp in the screen you get the hammer; and a chest in level 6 that you can't get cause of a conveyor in front, but all of these (hardlock aside) were pretty minor and I really enjoyed myself. The quest as a whole was fantastic."
Really, this was an underrated gem and I loved just how creative and charming it was. 5 stars.

I somehow overlooked this when it was released. It deserves more attention! It is fun, well-designed, has a great sense of humor, a logically-expanding overworld, a cool trading sequence leading to a superb reward, there is so much good here. The dungeon designs are well thought-out if indeed some are a tad short. Quibbles are all mentioned elsewhere. The bosses fall far too easily, dark rooms are a pain, and I don't like that type of item select system, especially when you are changing items as often as this quest asks of the player. But overall this is an underlooked gem of a custom quest.

Pros:
Great quest, nice selection of music, well designed overworld, beautiful tileset considering this is GB tileset, nice puzzles.
Cons:
- Could be more challenging.
- Needs stronger enemies.
- Too short.
- Lvl8 was extremely annoying due to all the dark rooms, and the having to constantly use the candle in the same room for light. That's a terrible terrible function.
- Having to use the subscreen every time you want to change an item. Another terrible function.
