I feel that the melody can use a little more rhythmic variety at the beginning. The background chords also seem to be oddly-timed relative to the melody or vice versa. With that said, this piece has some things going for it: it's moody, fits its "dark" description well, and maintains a general coherence through its length. With a few tweaks and some sort of melody on the part beginning around 0:25, this can be something special.
