Ascend To Despair

Description:
Somewhere in early May, I wrote up a little thing using the DSiWare application "Rytmik Retrobits". I spent the past few days rewriting it as a MIDI, and here it is.

Most of the time put into the MIDI version went into trying to pick out instruments that would sound at least halfway decent on the default Microsoft GS without ruining the sound it produces when using the other soundfonts. It sounds best using Chorium, if you have that. If not, Merlin Gold is fine, and it actually sounds good in GXSCC as well barring a couple small issues (namely the reverse cymbal).

Before anybody asks: no, I didn't have any specific direction I was trying to go with this. I simply went with what sounded good to me at the time.

For comparison, here is a WMA of how it sounds in Retrobits:

I enjoyed the orchestration but didn't find the melody very engaging.

Reminds me of https://www.purezc.co...ge=music&id=178
I also recognize a lot of the themes you used, including the SOS theme, and one theme that was also used in Five Sides to Everything.
I honestly like it, for that I'll give it a 5.
My major critiques I would say is to use the basic drum font over the "hard snare" font that's used in this one, I've never been a fan of using the hard snare that much, but that's more of a matter of personal preference I think.
I experimented also, I found that the harpsichord track can be replaced by nylon stringed guitar and sound pretty good that way too.
