Music.... From the Mountains!
Description:
Exactly as it says on the tin.
These are not exactly related to each other in any way, shape, or form. Rather, they were the midis that found their way into "the mountains" that I realized I had not submitted thus far.
Midis:
String Overture: A string overture. What more could you ask?
Ambience: A repetitive and rather distasteful song. I included it out of pity.
Boulders: An odd two parter piano midi. It seems rather incomplete, but I'm not touching the thing again.
Rockslide: All the fun of Boulders, with organs!
Icy Ascension: This one sorta borders between harsh winter and jolly winter. Dunno.
Silver Fog: A soothing duo of Clarinet and Alto Saxophone. I don't think it belongs here, but whatever...
The Burning Spire: I really like this one. It works extremely well "in the mountains"
The Foothills: This one's an oddity. Strangest thing... At least it has Percussion!
The Gauntlet: Distortion Guitars and a bass. Little more to be said.
The Summit: A 10 minute long slow moving piano midi. It is based off of a theme a coined from the piano, however, due to my limited use of Anvil Studio, could not be exactly alike. Some parts are poorer than others. I believe I submitted another song based on this earlier. Question, was it?

Boulders was very nice except for a little dissonance. Icy Ascension was beautiful and mysterious. I found Silver Fog kinda unappealing. String Overture had a nice orchestral feel to it.... like it was introducing something epic. The Burning Spire was solid. The Foothills was pleasant enough. The Gauntlet could have used more fill, but what's there is good. Finally, I thought the Summit was a bit too empty. But all told, these are great songs. Congrats!

Most of the midis were great, but I feel that some of them don't fit well in a mountainous environment. I feel like the burning spire would be better for a dungeon, and one of them I felt would work better in the ending of a game, like the credits. Then there is ambiance, which is so pitiful I'm not going to even include it in my rating. I'll give these a four. there good midis, but some just don't have the mountains feel.
