This quest is very nicely made and designed, and has a really interesting death gimmick, that while can get annoying due to backtracking, is really creative.

Strengths
  • Nicely made and design overworld
  • Large overworld for given time (2 weeks)
  • Really interesting and creative death gimmick
  • Creatively designed maze dungeons with more than 1 entrance
  • Average and fair difficulty
  • Nice screen design
  • Great music choices
Weaknesses
  • Backtracking due to death gimmick that gets really annoying
  • No puzzles
  • Music can get VERY loud and dies out the SFXs

2/5. I got tired of seeing the "You are Dead" for simple stuff. It didn't seem very playable.

This quest was interesting for its little random death sequences which sometimes had amusing messages, as well as its emphasis on exploration instead of battling bosses and collecting the whatevers to make it to the final boss. It progressed that way eventually, but not the same way one would expect. However, it would've been nice if these death sequences restarted you in the area you were in, rather than back at the start. Backtracking was a major annoyance in this quest, not just from the deaths, but in the levels themselves, as they required tons of crawling around to find the switches to continue before you could move on and find the hidden item. There were lots of clever elements, especially the level with the portals, but the tons of backtracking really killed much of the enjoyment of this quest. I'm also slightly disappointed that there didn't seem to be many death sequences later on, but that's also a good thing since it would just mean more backtracking later. Not to mention there were a ton of really obnoxious or irritating MIDIs as well. So, good quest, but way too tedious. :-/

What an awesome concept! How many ways to die are there in this quest?! :O
You only get 3 of 5 stars from me, because it is, obviously, short and the dungeons are big and tedious labyrinths. It also has it upsides, with that neat water flow puzzle under the bridge for example. I think playing this quest is overall very fun and this would be a cool idea for a full quest I'd say.
:D

This is a pretty great quest. It reminds me of those old, unforgiving adventure games where every wrong move meant instant death. My only complaint with it is that the death traps, while amusing at first, become increasingly more annoying the farther you get from the starting screen.
