Kirkhopemania - Dusk Husk Heights

Description:
If you like music from any of the following games, then you know that Grant Kirkhope is an amazing composer, and I hope to upload a wealthy selection of songs that all follow his formula for great music.

Banjo-Kazooie
Donkey Kong 64
Viva Pinata
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
Perfect Dark
007 GoldenEye
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

The song itself, Dusk Husk Heights, is something of a creepy one, with a slippery melody and plenty of tritones in both the tune and chords. It also use the structure that most Banjo-Kazooie songs follow. I've been studying Kirkhope's music for a few years now and this is how far I've come at emulating his style.

This is for the Kirkhope fans!

Fantastic! You pull off Kirkhope's style really well--specifically, you captured a sort of combination of Hailfire Peaks and Mad Monster Mansion that works perfectly. I thought the instrumentation changed a little too frequently at points and that some parts could have been a tad smoother, but considering the challenge of emulating Kirkhope's style and MIDI's natural limitations, I have to give you the benefit of the doubt. Keep it up.

Spectacular! I always loved the songs from Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong, two of my most favorite platformers, and this song seems like it came from one of those games... I love it. And I might use it. Great work!
