This is a solid NES-style game with cool custom bosses and a couple cool new items as well. Difficulty is very moderate (I had 8 deaths on the first quest and beat it in about 5 hours, haven't played the 2nd yet). If you like old-school style NES quests where bomb and burn spots are not marked for you it is above average. It gets a little more hype than it deserves as there is nothing terribly remarkable about it IMO. That's not criticism as much as some people say it's an all-time great. It's not, but it's solid if NES quests are your thing. I had fun.

Played the 1st Antiquity quest years ago when it was initially released and loved it. Realized recently that I never played this release's 2nd quest, so I jumped on that, and it was a blast to play.

In a nutshell, this quest is basically as advertised: captures the exploratory feel of the original first quest with some nice innovations (a few new non-boss enemies, many new bosses, a few new items) that still feel "NES-like", if that makes sense.

Only minor gripe is that I wish the 2nd quest was a bit more difficult. There's quite a bit of a difficulty increase from the original Zelda 1st quest to 2nd quest, and the increase in difficulty between the two Antiquity quests is not much. I managed to not find the cross/amulet in the 2nd quest, so that made level 9 more difficult as a result of invisible Like Likes rendering me shield-less.

Great stuff here, 5 stars.

I normally don't finish too many quests on here, but this quest was really good. There was a thread about good NES quests and this one seemed to rank real high with the community, and I agree! It was nothing overly special, but it didn't do any of the bad design decisions (for example push blocks pushable in only one direction) I see so many classic quests fall into and it was genuinely fun.

I only beat the first quest, but may attempt the 2nd quest at a later date! Job well done!

Great quest! I spent all day today beating it. Couldn't find the last three heart containers. Loved the Custom Bosses....especially Ganon in his new state....he's way tougher now. >_<;

I may just LP this on my channel in the near future! :3

PS: Will tackle the 2nd Quest tomorrow. xD

This is a great classic style double quest for those seeking one without the same original overworld. Getting two quests from one file does not compromise quality for quantity either, as the secrets are well hidden in both.

I personally consider the combat of this quest to be slightly easier than that of the original because of the availability of Heart Containers at the start, but this can be an advantage, especially due to the sheer difficulty of the Second Quest of the original. The new enemies, especially the new bosses, add a new twist but are otherwise not too difficult to deal with.

Like the original, keys can be purchased, and there are often more keys than mandatory locked doors especially due to blastable walls. The new custom items add some spice but are ultimately unnecessary to complete the quest.

Overall, this is a wonderful quest, your first since [Insert Quest Title Here]. It is safe to say that you improved your quest making with a larger overworld and four more main dungeons.
