I really enjoyed this quest. No tricks here, just pure NES style rules and enemies. If you go through the dungeons making maps on paper (and I like doing that myself) you'll do ok with all the one way doors. I appreciate quests like this where items are well hidden, although be warned that some rooms in dungeons are totally off the map, as in not even surrounded by four walls of the real dungeon. Keep this in mind, push on walls you might think couldn't possibly lead to anywhere and you'll do fine.

Very nice first effort at quest building. I give this a 5 star rating simply because it's just like what you said it would be. A simple original Zelda 1 1st quest. Hopes to see a 2nd quest out there very soon!

If you hate backtracking, you should play a different quest. But, if you feel like it's normal to make pen-and-paper maps of dungeons, you'll like this one.

Very reminiscent of the original Zelda. The overworld was very open, and every region of it felt like a new, unique biome eventhough everything was limited to the original tileset (the southwestern rocky desert was particularily good.) The dungeons had a steady difficulty curve, both in terms of combat and in terms of the confusing, hard-to-remember maze paths. The hardest part of this quest for me was that there aren't a lot of potion shops, and I couldn't remember where to find them when I needed them. If you're used to games from the 80s (where it was just the expected norm for games to be punishingly tedious and needlessly frustrating) then this quest is definitely worth trying out; you'll appreciate that this is a well structured, well polished tribute to the original. Otherwise, you'd have to be pretty masochistic to enjoy it.

Why the excess number of door repair ladies? Do you hate me for prodding your overworld for secrets?

Dungeon design gets rather repetitive, and that's a bad thing when the design is "a million passageways" and "hiding everything I need behind bombable walls, including the map, so I have to rely solely on divination to find anything in your levels." Don't do these tropes, please. These don't make your game fun.

Sorry I hate like likes and this quest is overcrowded -- yellow bubbles which take away my sword,, there were thousands around, the rest was like hide and seek "
