Excuse my crappy english... ^^"

I downloaded this quest years ago, played it 3 times but never found the time to finish it... and every time at the end. ^^"
But that said, this quest is simply amazing!
I would not have played 3 times nearly till the end, if it wouldn't be that good.

+ the pacing
+ nice puzzles
+ excelent dungeons & mini dungeons... every single one of them
+ the music... oh god the choice is absolutely fantastic!
+ difficulty > never too easy but also never unfair

Somehow I never played this quest until now. Overall, this quest held my interest to the end, gameplay taking about 17 hours. That is to say that there are a number of things I didn't like.

Pros:

- 8-way movement in an NES-style quest!

- Interesting music choices.

- Well-implemented overworld (more on this below)

- Excellent money system, in that there are always things to buy and rupee prizes seem to be strategically placed when there are some big-money items coming up. I never had a full wallet with nothing to spend on until the very end.

- The moderate difficulty was good enough to keep me engaged, but not enough to make me rage quit (more on this below).

Cons:

- The overworld doesn't really flow together in a cohesive way. By this I mean all the different areas of the big island seem isolated from one another - either literally by stone walls or by tileset clash. In essence, the big island looks kind of like a rubics cube.

- Difficulty seems to be buffed a lot by methods I consider cheap, like warp traps, spikes that are tough to maneuvor around (a problem with 8-way movement) and enemy spam that frequently turns into a button mashing contest. There were way too many batrobes and monster summoners. Honestly, the entire challenge in the final level amounted to "can I defeat these summoners before this room turns into a button-mashing contest?" instead of the final level having complex tricks or puzzles. Some of the other later levels are like this, too, requiring enemy grinding far more than the player being clever.

- Too many conveyor belts and sliding tiles in dungeons. These are annoying instead of challenging.

Overall, like I said, this quest kept me playing to the end, which means the cons weren't too serious.

This is actually my first Classic tile quest in decades. Unlike other classic tile quests this actually had beautiful overworld, nice bushes and stuff. This is the only NES style quest that I like.

The overworld is well-designed. The dungeons are good, but start getting more and more frustrating starting from level5. Reoccurring tons of like likes and such after you reenter a room is just plain torture.

Very fun and unique quest. Well done! It actually amazed me to see what more Zelda Classic can do. Again, very nice job! Difficulty was balanced and I enjoyed it. =)

Now THIS should have been Zelda 2!
