This one was pretty ok. Not great and by no means awful. It played well.
As with any Z1 quest 8 way movement would have been better.
I thought the screen transitions in the dungeon were kinda slow.
There were a few bugs were you got locked in an area and had to restart.
To echo another review the quest requires a shit ton of bombs. It was annoying to have to leave the earlier dungeon so much to re-up. it got better later in the game as you got more upgrades but the issue never really left.
Some of the dungeons were a long relationship of retrying pushing on and bombing every wall. I made halfway through level 9, got stuck, spun my heels for a few hours, got bored trying to figure it out and quit.
While it was a fairly long quest that kept me entertained for a couple days ultimately it wasnt super gratifying to play.

Well, what can I say? It took me about 3 and a half months on this and its my first ever quest. It's quite big for a first quest (9 dungeons, 3 overworlds, 24 heart containers, 1 extra dungeon, more than I can count bomb upgrades and lots of hidden money). I learned while making it so from the 1st to the 3rd dungeon its pretty basic Zelda stuff. After that is where the game really takes off. I used the original Zelda graphics because I didn't wa... I have played through this quest twice. My first blind run I didn't enjoy it as much. My 2nd run I enjoyed the quest outside of the locations I was forced to save and quite to return. I still feel level 9 became a bit Kaizo-ish. Overall it was nicely designed. If the forces save warping was ever fixed I possibly would rate it higher. The game itself is on about average to moderate difficulty. I feel the design was amazing. If the bugs were fixed it would be rated higher. For instance I believe it's level 5 or 6 there is grass over tiles that reveal music notes if you cut the grass the whistle won't work on said tiles, but you wouldn't know about the hint tile unless you cut the grass. I would still recommend giving it a try. That and overall I prefer Classic style quests. Quest also experiences the shop 3/4/5 bug in 2.10 where sometimes the shop won't return after purchasing an item from it.

Although I agree with Ferentz that there were some unfortunate bugs, and they are too numerous to post here, I still feel that this is a 5-star quest.
It was extremely challenging at times, but I never found it tedious, because it drove me to use every skill and ability I had to effectively get through several parts. I also really enjoyed the music choices throughout which enhanced the experience. The way the difficulty ramped up from beginning to end was well handled. The location of HCs and other hidden items/shops was never tedious to find, which is something I never liked about the original game. I thought all of the map layouts were great and unique, and the skills required in the dungeons were nicely balanced between problem-solving/puzzles and challenging combat situations.
All in all, I thought this was a fantastic quest that had some unfortunate bugs that should be fixed, but did not drop it below 5 stars in my eyes.
