In general, Honky Pig is an improvement over Ocarina of Power. Difficulty curve is well-structured, and it generally follows the ideas that OoP started and really runs with them.
An overworld that gradually opens up over time as more levels are completed and items are obtained. It also means that you're generally not really getting stuff like Heart Pieces until about halfway through the game. The Overworld is very well structured, and the gradual opening of it works much better than in OoP.
There's some things that are a bit rough. There's some tileset errors here and there, and you get the Hammer in Level 1 which is a really interesting choice. I thought the game had a massive difficulty jump going into Level 5 (dealing with Blue Darknuts without a Blue Ring) but I'd simply forgotten that the game gave me the Hammer so early. Otherwise, it's very manageable, although you don't get sword beams until the final sword right before the final dungeon.
Overall, 4/5. A substantial improvement over OoP, which I already enjoyed. Took me about 4 hours, which is about what I expected. Dungeons and puzzles are much more interesting, and the game has no qualms giving you decently sized dungeons from the off.
