Description
Back between 2001 and 2002, the forest brush from LttP was imported into ZC. The earliest sign of these tiles in the PZC database is Wild Bill's original Pure tileset, though it is possible it was first introduced into an early variant of Orion's LttP Tileset (used in Dreams of Yesterday, I believe).
Incidentally, the brush was slightly mangled upon import. A row of pixels was dropped, little artifacts were added to the bottom corners, and the shading of the woody bits on the sides got inverted. Amazingly enough, these little errors were subsequently propagated through all derivatives of the brush, making their way into dozens of tilesets and many quests.
I went ahead and dumped the tile data out of LttP to reconstruct the brush as accurately as I could and this is the result.
In this submission colored for DoR and Pure, are three variants of LttP forest brush:
- LttP: unedited rip directly from LttP, recolored to their respective tilesets.
- Custom: a custom edit of the LttP brush made by me to soften the oddly-sharp corner bit in the LttP brush and to add a bit of extra lumpiness and anti-aliasing to the brush
- DoR: edited DoR-style brush incorporating the aforementioned fixes.
Also I included some narrow connectors seen in LttP that never made it over into any ZC tileset as far as I can tell.
