Pillow shading is okay for buttons. You might do better to add some "shine," though. Most professional button sprites I've seen have used light reflection and shadowing, and not JUST pillow shading.

I'm not sure how appropriate this is for playing on the keyboard, but it sure does look nice.

I would have called these "button-mapping icons," by the way. But that's just semantics.

Amazing... except, I'd change Y and X to L and R.

I like it, but I have to question it's functionality- You could easily edit X and Y to be L and R, but the Z button seems totally unusable. Also, I think the buttons could have used sharper shading and it would have been quite a bit better.

The buttons aren't incredibly attractive, but the wire part is good. Listen to Fizz, he knows what he's talking about.

All that pillow shading is unnecessary : the shading could of been done with only 2 or 3 shades of each hue. I've learned that the more shades there are in a small sprite, the more blurry and unattractive it becomes. Detailed in the wrong way. And try to avoid always using a straight color ramp, pm me if you don't know what that means.

2 stars for your effort, keep on pixeling: you'll get better eventually.
