Why is it that when I have an Ice Rod and Fire Rod, which is basically the same as the default "Wand" item that when I have the Book in inventory, the Ice Rod shoots the same magic projectile as the Wand even though the Item Editor has it set to something else? Also, can the Wand leave flames without the Book?

The wand can't leave fire without the book, no.
