So previously on Screen Rebirth, I may have fallen into lava, and I may have made a somewhat tricky base screen, but...dang, everybody who entered knocked it out of the park! There's some tough competition this week, so cast your vote and may the best screen win.
Here's the base screen:
And the entrants:
Twilight Knight
Loco Lecture
FTX6004

Twilight Knight's definitely feels the most inspired environmentally, great use of the cave spikes on the ice!
FTX6004 stole my vote... please tell me this and your previous entry are from a quest. The pillars sell the entire screen.
I always dig sideview content, and Runa once again delivered. I do feel like it's missing an element to bring the screen together... maybe a big boulder or hookshot post like in the base screen?
Zeron's feels the most faithful, which sometimes can work in an entry's favour... I do feel in this case, with three other extremely unique entries, it does not. But that's not to say it isn't a great lava screen, because it is!

Twilight Knight's screen is a very cool looking area. At first I thought this was the seventh world, but on closer look I'm not sure what area of NT this is. It's interesting to me that this is the one shot to intrepret the north of the screen as lower elevation. I wonder if that was creative interpretation or just the ambiguity of Classic mountains at play.
FTX6004's screen is meeting all of my standards. I adore the faded pillars visible in the background. The layout of the screen looks interesting for dungeon flow and incorporates the design of the base screen very well. Plus I'm just super biased in favor of any sky dungeon. This one got my vote.
Runa's screen impresses me with its creativity. The detailing is really simple but the interpretation of negative space as a walkable sideview screen is wicked cool.
Zeron's actually really impresses me too. My base screen design was very noisy and so interpreting it in DoR is very ambitious. Though it's a very straightforward adaptation, I'm impressed by any screen that merges mountain elevations in this tileset.

Thank you, and I'm happy to provide DoR mountain screens. Feel free to go as complicated as you want Moosh, I welcome the challenge.
Yeah, it's a bit predictable. I keep forgetting to choose a creative theme before spiraling into mountain madness. At least I've gotten quite skilled with the mountains.
Also, I later realized that a ladder left of the central rock would have tied the screen together.
Bonus trivia: I originally planned on making a half frozen lava screen with an ice bridge, but I forgot to leave structural lines for the bridge itself. Thus, the bridge idea ended up in SotW 872 instead.
For the other screens:
Twilight Knight: A bit simple, but still quite good; it looks very playable. Great detailing on the rock, that's hard to do well.
FTX6004: The standout entry this week. The screen has plenty of detail and function while still feeling open, making it look straight out of a great quest. Excellent use of Classic.
Runa: Very creative, and it's well executed. It's quite well detailed for its simple structure. Although... the dark colors makes the screen seem flatter than it is. For example, I just noticed the background. A slightly brighter palette might work better.
Also... ...are those tiles based on LttP mountains? (The type I used.)

Thank you and you are right, this is the 7th world of Argons Evil Lair, but also a new area. As that world was a bit small in the original quest, I had to think of something new as well.
Also, I did read that higher elevation in the base screen, just somehow this ended up looking good for my screen after some experimenting. At first I was going for this design:

Anyway, I really enjoy fitting these Screen Rebirth screens to my quest. This one was especially challenging and fun, so keep 'em coming :-)
FTX: that is a gorgeous screen! Great idea to change the lava to a red sky instead.
Runa: I really like your idea to change this to sideview, looking good as well.
Zeron: you translated those mountains well into a pretty DoR mountain design, looks lovely to explore!

Late response because i'm lazy but they aren't, been making these in my free time whenever i feel like it. However I did have some thoughts about making a quest while doing this one.
