Zeron

The frozen palace, unearthed from the icy mists of bygone cognition. AKA the realization of an old concept for a mock up. Normally it would be snowing, but that would roughly quadruple the frame count.

the bright blue arctic wastes of zeron's are kinda gorgeous, too, but joelmacool's edged it out.

Now that is a cool screen. It sure is a bit busy on the eye, but it looks so cool nonetheless. I'm especially intrigued by the "portal door" on the bottom.
I had one idea to make the screen less busy, it might be a tedious job, but maybe make the stars on the walls a bit darker colour than the stars in the pits?

I really like how this looks and it has this epic feel to it. Makes me want to explore what's inside. I also like the idea of being able to swim there through the frozen waters. The pristine castle walls are also a nice contrast here, it almost looks glossy as if made out of ice.

 

I nulled since I've entered as well. As for my own screen I wanted to submit something tropical looking as it's very cold and snowy here these last weeks.

Finally getting around to this.

 

Joelmacool: Well. That's a bit of a showstopper. Excellent use of classic, as usual, although the tiles to Link's side break the symmetry somewhat. Maybe one should be rotated?

 

Twilight Knight: Ah, Patra rooms. I like the detailing with shallow water. Perhaps a bit plain, but it looks like it works well as part of a larger whole.
