Introducing...

By Matthew, Moon, and Shane
About the Quest
Drenched in the light of the setting sun, Shadows of Hyrule sees a newly-coronated Queen Zelda send one of her few competent knights, Link, on a quest to follow in their ancestors' footsteps by drawing the legendary Master Sword and vanquishing a rising evil; a strange shadowy force that has crept across the kingdom, spreading illness and monsters in its wake. However, Link and the young Queen quickly find that the people of Hyrule are largely skeptical of their fairy tale approach to problem solving - after all, what use is a mythical sword in the face of an illness that afflicts the land itself?

Shadows of Hyrule explores a version of the kingdom that has prospered under a long period of peace, and in that time, lost touch with its own history and storied mythology. Much like Echoes of Wisdom and A Link Between Worlds before it, Shadows of Hyrule takes cues from A Link to the Past, and heavily expands on its classic depiction of Hyrule, reimagining it in ways that gives this Hyrule an identity of its own.

Shadows of Hyrule is the first collaborative project produced by Matthew, Shane, and Moon since the completion of One Screen Gollab in 2023. It is also the trio's first project set in the Zelda Universe, and aims to be friendly to the series' mythology, reimagining and recontextualizing the series mythos in its own way.
Quest Structure
Shadows of Hyrule is a full-length project (read: not a miniquest) that is estimated to provide around 10 hours of playtime for a thorough player. Players may expect...
- A custom 11x10 overworld
- Eight full-length dungeons
- A smattering of (optional) mini-dungeons
- Plentiful side quests - mechanically emphasized, fleshing out the world and its characters while providing Link with meaningful upgrades to his capabilities.
- Collectibles galore
- And more!
As of now, the quest is somewhere between 33% and 50% completion (but probably a bit closer to 33%). No release date can be provided or estimated at this time, but progress is consistent.
