Hope everyone (who celebrates it) had a great Thanksgiving! Now onto the entries for SotW 863:

My vote went to Orithan this week. Idk there's just something charming about the simplicity of it, and the NPCs and stuff. All three shots are nice though. I like the mountains/ walls TK uses a lot. Zeron also has some cool DoR stuff too, both of these shots remind me of an older time in ZC when that set was at its peak.

Lovely green DoR shot, and that sparkly thing on top of that monument looks very intriguing. I do feel the repetition and density in trees is not a common look in DoR though, it is better suited for GB tilesets. Otherwise it looks really good.

That is an interesting and very detailed interior, a library I presume. I like the amount of detail here, from characters sitting and reading books, to the different coloured books in the bookcases. Those flowers look really nice as well.

If I may be picky about one thing, it's that the outlines are not consistent. Most objects have a dark outline at the bottom, which looks really good, but some objects don't have this effect, like the pamphlets and windows on the walls, or even the walls itself. I think it will look a lot better if all objects have a darker outline on the bottom.

Thank you both, that means a lot, especially coming from an excellent DoR user. I try to capture some of the essence of the old classics, and I'm glad that it shows. As for the glow ball, it's elemental power of earth/its guardian (I forgot which, both are there) in all of its hastily off-limits glory. (It's supposed to be a smooth pulse, but this bungled gif actually captures the feel better.)
Also, I agree about the trees; looking at it years later, some tree variety, DoR:H certainly isn't lacking in options, would help quite a bit while keeping the forest's edge look. Plus, the cliff is a bit bare.

Regarding the other shots:

Twilight Knight: Good, classic DoR volcano shot, and you continue to make excellent usage of gameplay space. I would have voted here.

Orithan: Nice library/bookstore vibes. The floor change is a neat detail, and the flowers are a clever way to tie in less used colors.

Thanks a lot for your compliment! :-)

Oh you are busy with this for multiple years already? I didn't see your project before, I think.

I'm glad you're reconsidering the trees. Maybe some could be brown-ish or a different type. Doing too many different types also won't look right though (as I've done in the past).

And I think the cliff looks fine!

Only technically. That project has been inactive for years now (not that it got far), although I might slash scope and finish it someday. Additionally, the microquest shown in SotW 862 has been "complete" for a year or two, and it will likely get posted eventually, after a few buckets of polish. As for now, my current project is nearing completion, hence my arrival. (Not that it has much screen design.)

Solid advice, I'll have to remember that for potential revision or if the locale returns separately. I hadn't considered it before you mentioned brown trees, but an early autumn aesthetic would probably work well.

Also, good to know about the cliff. It's far too easy to detail everything.
