There's a few, but most are either incomplete or very old.

This is the tutorial i used back in the day when I got started: ZQ Tutorial. It's good, but it might be confusing since the UI has changed a bit since, and there are way more features. But it does cover a lot of the editor basics that are still relevant.

On various specific concepts we've got tutorials in our tutorial forum: Tutorials.

Personally I recommend jumping in and experimenting with things. And if anything stumps you or seems weird then feel free to ask questions in the Discord server, there's usually always someone around that can answer.

I wish we had a comprehensive place to point new users, but we just don't, sadly. Mani is right, there are tutorials, but they are very old. You can still pick up some basic stuff, like what a "d-map" and "c-set" are but as far as start to finish tutorials, there aren't any made in the last 10 years.

But yeah feel free to ask questions on the discord, the forum is not super active for ZC help, but for stuff like editor help, the devs are pretty active in our discord, as well as a lot of other people who might be able to help out.

I have a 2.5 tutorial that's kind of outdated but it is more recent that Bikdip's one which explores some new features 2.5 introduced (I also apologise for the awful commentary, 12 years ago me was someone else). Unfortunately it's incomplete and because of how much new stuff is in ZC now even I don't know what a lot of it is anymore so I kinda have to relearn most things myself lol.

I would like to revisit and make a new one someday going over just basics for 2.55 but I need to find the time.

We do have a tutorial page on the website, but, well, we don't have tutorials to put on it.

is this something we could consider turning into a community project of some kind? it seems really unfortunate that newcomers have nothing to work with except outdated tutorials (assuming they can even find them). as the epicenter of zquest it would be quite valuable for pzc to make things as accessible as possible

I could begin to make little silly / joke videos on this topic.. "How to make a screen!" "How to do Sidewarps!", etc. Kinda hate how my 2.53 tutorial came out all things considered, so I'll probably do a new one for 3.0 sometime soonish.
